Spring Equiknocks

The 49ers hired a new head coach after the 2014 season, so they can begin their offseason workout program earlier than other more stable franchises. The first workout begins in two weeks, on April 6.

It’s entirely possible that we’ll see the long awaited debut of new HC Jim Tomsula at that point, presumably talking about his team, like it actually is his team. The guy in charge. Leader of manly men.

We should also see, or be told about, the new and improved Colin Kaepernick. Freshly returned from his Arizona seminar with Kurt Warner on the basics of QBing in the NFL. We’ll see how well his new found skills adhere midway through the third quarter of the first nail-biter game of the 2015 season.

We’ll also hear if Navorro Bowman looks like his old 2013 self, or a somewhat lesser version of that. If we hear that Justin Smith is in camp, it means he’s going to give it one more go instead heading home to Missouri.

GM Trent Baalke says the 49er offense will have a different philosophy next year. He did not explain what that philosophy would be or what philosophy we had previously that would now not be had. He’s on record saying the team will run the ball. That sounds suspiciously like the philosophy that’s been employed here since the days of Mike Singletary.

Jed York says we’re getting back to 49er core principles. He did not explain what those core principles were. Or what era they existed in. The West Coast Offense? The Smash Mouth running game era? Core principles from the Eddie Debartolo era or the Godawful York era.

Hmmmm. I think I’m smelling a Tomsula here. Could these two gents just be blowing smoke? Spewing the old bullshit? Giving us the unca_chuck a lot?

Are these two even on the same page now? Baalke seems to be throwing out some typical coach-speak b.s. and glad to escape back to his office. But York is actively seeking the spotlight, trying to repair the damage to his image by adopting the time honored strategy of digging a deeper hole. He’s gone from squealing that he had a signed piece of paper that proved the parting with Jim Harbuagh was mutual to saying Harbaugh was fired for being a bad coach. Somebody get this kid a pacifier. Quick!

Better yet Skeebs, someone get Young Jedi a muzzle.
We’re stuck with the situation until such time that results become facts.

Can Jed just STFU about it already ?

  2. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Hey NJ49er, I’m reading the results of all your college player research but follow very few of them myself.

Jed has put himself in competition for the biggest jerk in NFL team ownership history. And now it looks like someone told him what a jerk he looks to the millions of followers of the game. But his PR guys are worse than Zero’s. “Just lie, by the time we have to admit to anything, it’ll be better or over.”

Baalke and his daughter wanted Roman gone. Baalke and his pets wanted Harbaugh gone. Jed wanted Fangio gone or hog-tied. But insisted any new head coach keep the position coach Tomsula. WTF? Not finding any takers he just made Tomsula the head coach and called him the best candidate. Nothing about any of it made any sense and it’s hard to see how the meal is even edible with so much crazy running the kitchen.

  3. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Somewhere I read that Cowboy will announce his decision by Wed.
I suspect he’s already made his decision clear and the FO is telling him to mull it over some more.

  4. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Also the compensatory picks are being announced later today.
One pundit predicts only one 4th rd pick and the most the Niners expect is an additional 7th rounder.

  5. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Barrows is reporting the Niners might take a look at Lance Briggs
    to bolster their ILB depth.
He the guy we allegedly tampered with and were the only team that went to the woodshed and got punished for tampering even though it’s widespread in the NFL.

  6. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

How will the no name Niners perform this year?

    Great coaches? Check
    Great D? Check
    Great QB? Check
    Great owner? Check

Right. More power to those who are optimistically hopeful. I’d love to be pleasantly surprised, really I would. Expectations however have been lowered appropriately based on the disgusting leadership out of FO since the SB year and the 2012 draft.

  7. bullitNo Gravatar says:

The pundit was wrong. The Niners received compensatory 4th and 7th rd picks as this was just announced at the owner’s meetings.

  8. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

49er Draft status pending totals for rounds with compensatory picks:

Round – Pick – (Overall Pick)

    1 – 15 – (15) –
    2 – 14 – (46) –
    3 – 15 – (79) –
    4 – 14 – (110) – Choice traded to Buffalo for WR Stevie Johnson
    4 – 27 – (123) – *Choice from Denver (2014 Draft Day trade)
    4 – 33 – (129) – # Compensatory Selection
    5 – 15 – (nnn) –
6 – 14 – (nnn) – *Choice conditionally traded to Jacksonville for QB Blaine Gabbert (not exercised, pick retained)
7 – 15 – (nnn) – Choice traded to Miami for OT Jonathan Martin
    7 – 29 – (nnn) – * Choice from Indianapolis (for OLB Cam Johnson)
    7 – 37 – (nnn) – # Compensatory Selection

  9. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Okay, there were three compensatories in the third round, so the fourth round picks should look like this:

    4 – 14 – (113) – Choice traded to Buffalo for WR Stevie Johnson
    4 – 27 – (126) – *Choice from Denver (2014 Draft Day trade)
    4 – 33 – (132) – # Compensatory Selection

  10. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    A 4 and a 7 are fine.
    Extra ammunition to add depth.

Having a tough time deciding if Baalke is shopping Defense with Pick 15 at this point.
I’m sure it will all be predicated on the Picks ahead of us, as to which way he’s likely to move.

I’m pretty much eliminating a WR there, unless someone miraculously slips through.

Going to cross my fingers for Bud Dupree at this point.
The drama will be here soon enough.

Don’t think a CB would be that high on his list either.
Can’t go wrong in the trenches, on either side of the ball either.

Could this be the year for my Fat Man in the Middle?

  11. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

If Parker is gone – and I think it’s about 80% probable – I could see us starting to trade down to pick up quantity. We need a good number of reinforcements.

  12. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Final 49er draft selection order with all compensatory picks accounted for:

    1 – 15 – (15) –
    2 – 14 – (46) –
    3 – 15 – (79) –
    4 – 14 – (113) – Choice traded to Buffalo for WR Stevie Johnson
    4 – 27 – (126) – *Choice from Denver (2014 Draft Day trade)
    4 – 33 – (132) – # Compensatory Selection
    5 – 15 – (151) –
6 – 14 – (188) – *Choice conditionally traded to Jacksonville for QB Blaine Gabbert (not exercised, pick retained)
    7 – 15 – (232) – Choice traded to Miami for OT Jonathan Martin
    7 – 29 – (246) – * Choice from Indianapolis (for OLB Cam Johnson)
    7 – 37 – (254) – # Compensatory Selection

  13. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Yep NJ I too think they will trade down unless BPA is ‘irrefusable’. Go with DL, OL, LB with added picks, no early WR. My guess based on what we’ve seen so far. One month away now

OMG Lance Briggs? Naw get Butkus.

Nice list of our draft positions Grumpy. Thanks

  14. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Baalke has been pretty adept at that Grumpy.
If he feels his value isn’t there, he’ll entertain such a move if presented.

Been thinking whether Jerruh would make a pitch for a RB in our slot?
If Baalke doesn’t have his man there, fleece Jerruh if possible.
There’s enough value in RDs2-4 IMO.

Great Draft Class for Defense. I think we could find good CBs and LBs beyond RD1.

Curious to see if Baalke would take a risk with DG-B too.
Hard to find a 6’5″/237lb WR running in the 4.4s.
Might be too high to risk that Pick at 15.
Later in RD1 or RD2 might be worth it?

He’s going to be an interesting guy to watch. Dez 2.0?

  15. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

I think there is too much need right now for trades. They need a top pick that can contribute right away. I think they go BPA with the first 3 rounds. But i also see that being DL, CB, OL.

  16. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

NJ, thanks for the heads up, Been traveling and couldn’t get to it. Put up a new thread. Be still, clucking hens!

  17. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Well aware of the ‘technical difficulties’ associated with this sort of stuff Chuck.
As for our Draft strategy, if Baalkes’ guy isn’t there at 15, extra Picks are the way to go.
Dropping back in RD1 for an extra 3 helps to address the shortages.
In terms of a starter in RD1, a kid like Dupree could easily get time as a Pass Rusher in situational packages, as did Aldon when he was a pup.

Few positions are worthy of immediate starter capability in this business.
I’m leery of WRs that high as well but, if they feel confident with a specific guy, go for it.

  18. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

NoFear49er here’s something to keep you busy, if interested.

I’ve got these players as potential Late RD/UDFA candidates.
Never know where they’ll go but, from what I can determine, they could be hanging around on the Cheap (maybe?)

    Late RD/UDFA –

    DeShazor Everett (CB) – TX A&M – 6’0″/193 (SS?)
Craig Mager (CB) – TX St – 5’11″/201
Tye Smith (CB) – Towson – 6’0″/195 (SS?)
    Tyeler Davison – (DT) – Fresno St – 6’2″/316
    Deion Barnes (DE/OLB) – PSU – 6’4″/260
Zach Vigil – Utah ST (ILB) – 6’2″/235
Ben Beckwith (OG) – MS St – 6’4″/317
Davis Tull (OLB) – UT Chat – 6’3″/246
Kyle Emanuel (OLB) – ND State – 6’3″/251
Davis Tull (OLB) – UT Chat – 6’3″/246
Laurence Gibson – (OT) – VA Tech 6’6″/305
    Dean Marlowe (S) – JM – 6’2″/205
    Cam Worthy – (WR) – ECAR – 6’2″/211
    DeVante Davis – (WR) – UNLV – 6’3″/220

  19. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit here’s the KR List I’ve come up with –
I’m probably done on this portion of the research –

    KR –
    Stefon Diggs (WR) – UMD – 6’0″/195
    Adrian Amos – (CB) – PSU – 6’0″/218
    Phillip Dorsett (WR) – Miami – 5’10″/185
    Kenny Bell (WR) – NE – 6’1″/197
    Ty Montgomery (WR) – Stanford – 6’2″/215

You said this a few days ago
“What’s the 49ers record under Tomsula, squiashy?”

“Squishy”??? Coining a Ted Cruz favorite term I see?
    Another flip flop? Not suprising.

  21. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Chipper Kelly says he might cut Evan Mathis G if he can’t trade him.
Mathis is 33 and has 2 years left on his contract with $5.5 mil and $6 mil owed until his deal expires and he’s a FA in 2017.
Trade a 5th rd pick for the second best guard in the NFL as rated per PFF and you fix your Oline problems.

  22. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“Bears are close to agreeing with DE/DT Ray McDonald on a 1 year deal, according to a source close to the team.”

  25. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Hell yeah, Fangio will play him if he’s not classy enough for us anymore. Good thing the classy restriction doesn’t extend to fans, or admin, just players, just some players.

  26. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I have seen only two individuals use the word “squishy”
Ted Cruz and Chuckles. Pure coincidence or a bromance?
Sorry but that is a term that has ever been used here or on any other football blog. You posted it now own it.

  27. Unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Sponge bob says it all the time, the commie bastard.

Wasn’t Ted born in the Socialist Republic of Canada?

  28. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Kap’s QB Guru in Arizona who’s been gushing about him is a 35 year old Arena League QB who also played 2 years in Canada.
His resume does not include any coaching experience. His best recent football season was with the Intense football League (???)

Here is Dennis Gile from 2 years ago training a 14 year old.

What happened to Kurt Warner coaching Kap? The reports on Kap are good from Gile but I hope this guy has some creditbility and we’ll see the results in training camp.

  29. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

You come up with some stupid shit sometimes, Squishboy, but that one takes the cake.

So, which is it. Give Kappy shit for not seeking out help? Or when he does, it isn’t up to your lofty standards? Congrats. Inane post number 1,000,000 from you.

    You don’t like squishy?

    How about dumbf**k?

Oh, I’m sorry. Is Ted Nugent already calling you that?

  30. bullitNo Gravatar says:

The other guy that’s instructing Kap is Mike Giovondo who is a high school coach for Shadow Mountain High School in the Phoenix Area.
Facts are facts. Not sure what an Intense Football League QB and a high school coach can teach Kap. Big difference between high school football, the Intense Football League and the NFL.

  31. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Why so sensitive? The results will be revealed by Kap’s play in the fall and on the field.
I’m just wondering how a high school coach and a guy with less experience than Kap can teach him how to read defenses and the nuances of the QB position.

  32. bullitNo Gravatar says:

There was a dustup a couple years ago between these QB gurus and another guru Steve Clarkson. Gile list his resume as NFL and Arena League. Truth is Gile was a training camp QB for the Pats and he played exactly one game for the Arena league.
But anyhow these guys were trying to get credit for improving Tim Tebow.
Sadly just my opinion, this speaks for itself.

  33. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Baalke sat down today and gave out some more info

  34. bullitNo Gravatar says:

See Chuckles I made a comment on Kap not directed at you and you come back with your usual lame kindergarten insults.
You can’t come back with an intelligent rebuttal so you resort to mudslinging.
Then you cry foul and wonder why I’m always picking on you?
You need to grow a pair.

  35. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Waah! Everything you post is anti-49ers, sushiboy. Either the endless martyrdom of St. Jim or the fact that Harbaugh QBed the Niners to the Super Bowl and Kappy failed in the clutch. All the greatness of the past couple seasons had nothing to do with the QB. Same old same old, skippy,

Just embrace your hatred and stop mincing around like a chickenshit. Disavow the team. Stop whining incessantly about how poor St Jim was crucified.

Same goes for you, Skeebs. All you post about is how terrible things are because Harbaugh left. Truth is, 95% of the shit that came to pass would have happened anyway without Harbaugh leaving, If not exactly the same.

  36. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    “Everything you post is anti-49ers”

Just like my 5:27 pm post??? And my 7:28am???

    You lie like a rug.

  37. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

    “You lie like a rug.”

Sure he does. Doing his best York impression = talk shit long enough maybe some of it will stick. There is a profound hopefulness in fan child’s rants = maybe someone will believe this crap. Please? Sad.

Face it Bullit he’s got a man crush on ya bro. Yes I understand the chronic sociopathic need to pose, posture and point fingers but it goes deeper than that. Poor guy.

  38. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Any minute now Skeebs is going to call a halt to the fun and games me thinks.

BTW just what IS so frightening about pointing out the quality of the Niner coaches and the ones tutoring Kaepernick? Why the defensiveness by the tiny minority? Why the haste to deny that maybe just maybe the team has slipped a bit? There should be no consequences for dumping the winning coaches huh?

Wish I could live in that rosy world but it does seem like a whole lot of work.

    Ho hum carry on.

  39. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit looks like Diggs is coming out to SF for a Pre-Draft visit –

  40. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Wonder if there’s any coincidence between Torrey and Diggs (Vernon) being ‘Terps? 😀

    Speed Merchants U?

I would like to see Ellington concentrating on his WR position duties and, eliminate the KR responsibilities.

Trindon Holliday could answer that call, if his fumble-itis issues are under control.

  41. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I like his open field vision/abilities.
    Doesn’t quit.
Always looking for the extra yards.
Wouldn’t mind him in the Mid RD area.

  42. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Diggs would be an excellent prospect.
Maybe use the 4th round compensatory pick on him.

  43. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’ve pretty much eliminated a WR Pick at 15, short of Amari or Parker slipping through.
Makes sense to look for that position a little later IMO.

Thinking Defense there at 15, with the outside chance that an OT might work.

Ereck Flowers from Miami looks like a top 20 talent.
Or, possibly going the Red Shirt route with Ogbuehi later on.

  44. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Diggs and Tre McBride are pretty similar guys in my view.
Wouldn’t mind either one at the right slot.

  45. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Good reviews on Ereck Flowers –

“Excellent overall makeup. Loves football. Motivated and wants to be great. Low maintenance and has his house in order. Sharp and learns well. Strong work ethic. Team-first type of guy. Will play injured. Developed into leader of Miami offensive line.”

“Aggressive and plays with an edge. Does not back down and will mix it up. Works to sustain blocks and finishes when given the opportunity. Has shown willingness to play through pain.”

  46. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Big kid too, 6’6″/329.
Could plug him in at OG next to Staley possibly?

Plenty of ways to move, depending on who shows up on our slot.

  47. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I think the elite WRs go 4 deep with Strong as a possibility at #15.
I would take a long and hard look at Gurley. If he proves healthy he could be a 2000 yd rusher and I would rather have him on the team than have to face him twice a season if Cards take him. Before his injury I thought he was that game changer.

  48. NJ49ERNo Gravatar says:

Bullit I made a similar suggestion regarding our slot and Dallas with respect to their possible interest in a RB.

If our guy isn’t there at 15, dealing back, (with Dallas perhaps), could net us an extra 3rd RD pick ?

IMO, there’s enough depth in this Class to secure needed talent beyond RD1.

Baalke isn’t shy about adding extra Picks.
Losing the talent we have in recent weeks won’t be replaced immediately via a rookie at Pick 15.

I’m good with dealing down if an extra player can be had in a pretty deep Defensive Draft.

    Should be interesting..

  49. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Football trends come in cycles. We are now in the era where most teams are pass happy. Lately nobody is taking RBs in the first round.
Still think you have to have a balanced offense t6o win.
Dallas has all this talent to pass yet they also realize running the ball is the key to winning and they ran Murray last year till his legs fell off. Same for the Egos. You would think that they would emphasize passing yet Shady McCoy was the NFL rushing leader 2 years ago.
It’s a potent offense that keeps opposing defenses off balance.

  50. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Scratch Mason Foster off Baalke’s wish list for ILB help.
Foster is signing up with Fangio and the Bears

  51. bullitNo Gravatar says:

This guy Gile tutoring Kap likes to talk. In the article about working with Tebow
“Giavondo and Gile worked with Tebow for “two to four” hours a day at no cost to the player. Gile added Tebow is one of “the most dedicated, hardworking guys” he has come across and showed major improvement over the course of the past three months. Former NFL quarterbacks Steve Young and Jim Zorn came down to visit Tebow as he worked with the Arizona pair. Gile said Young’s reaction says it all.

“Steve Young’s mouth was hitting the floor,” Gile said. “‘Wow, you got it!’ is what he said exactly.”

Gile gushed in a similar fashion about Kap improving.
Like I said we shall see as it will be proven on the field.
My question is if Tebow improved where Steve Young’s jaw dropped, where has Tim been in the last 2 years?

I genuinely hope for Kap’s sake that he got some proper QB training and shows measurable improvement. Would feel more confident if Kap’s progress report came straight from Kurt Warner.

  52. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Like I said Gile likes to talk. He was on the radio with 95.7 and Niner Nation has the transcript of that. Several times in the interview Gile said Warner was a busy guy and spent minimal time tutoring Kap. For what it’s worth but multiple stories from local media about this.

  53. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Breshard Perriman runs a super fast 40 at his Pro Day

  54. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Kap needs to stay off social media and stop posting stupid stuff.
A San Jose cop lost his life last night in the line of duty.
Maybe Kap doesn’t know about it but what is there to gain from posting this picture?
Kap needs to grow up because he is now the face of the franchise.

Kap needs to use his brain and think pros and cons before he attaches his name to something.
In this case lot’s of cons plus bad timing.

  55. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Kaepernick the poser. Acting like a hard ass criminal gang banger with the tats, guns and ‘give an F’ headphones. Impressive mofo that guy. As the employees used to say at Sacramento Juvie = “Here’s Bobby Badass”, “That’s Tommy Tough Guy”.

Uh no that’s the starting QB on the SF Niners = “Killer Kap”. See the ‘tude’? See the scowl? Yep we sure do. Along with the blown passes and boneheaded plays. Too busy working out his muscles and not his brains.

    Killer Kap that’s our boy.

  56. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    Kap’s not that extreme
Kap is going to be 28. Time to grow up. Now with megabuck contract he is beholden to the 49er organization to put on a certain image and not embarrass the team.
It’s like he’s part of management and needs to think, dress and act like a manager.

  57. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit Perriman is a guy on my list for that very reason.
Good size, excellent stats and, he’ll be cheaper than Pick 15.

I’ve kept Chris Conley from UGA on the list as well.
His stat-line is nearly identical to Kevin White.

Size and speed is nice of course but, I think the trick to beat Seattle is more about stretching their Defense and working the underneath routes as well.

When a guy like T.Y. Hilton can have success against them, it shows what the speed factor can do.
Conley brings the added dimension of leaping ability too.

This is the reason why I’ve pretty much taken the WR off the shopping list at Pick 15, short of a gem getting to us at that slot.

  58. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’m more concerned about getting younger in the trenches and Secondary right now.

Going to be an interesting Draft this year.

As you said, with guys like Gurley and Gordon being coveted by several teams in need of RBs, our slot could be very valuable in terms of Trade options.

  59. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

With the right Contract structure, (maybe something like Aldon and Hardy just took), would you consider sliding back and taking a chance on DG-B later in RD1 and getting an extra Pick in the process?

  60. phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Kap’s posing, I get it. I mock his phony act rightfully so. Maybe it is hard being adopted and all to get over the identity issues. Dunno but yeah Kap drop the act and grow up.

Now a real sociopath unlike the silly ones circling our team
    take Aaron Hernandez:

Prosecutors: Aaron Hernandez misled cancer-stricken cousin to win her silence

  61. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

One important ingredient of the Rookie Cap is, it removes much of the hesitation once associated with Trades.
Slots at the top are nowhere near as risky as they once were.

With the continued drama surrounding Mariota and Chip, the Browns’ reported interest in Bradford, I’m not convinced that something major couldn’t happen in the top 10 in terms of a deal to get Mariota to Philly via Cleveland, who holds 2 1st RD Picks ahead of Chip.

  62. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

And the Top 10 might just have gotten shaken up even further.
Bud Dupree might not make it to us now with this development –

DE Randy Gregory tested positive for Mary Jane at the Combine –

    Can you say DUMBA$$?

  63. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Latest salary cap number is Niners have $7 mil to spend

Maiocco talked to Jed at the Owner’s Meetings and Jed is still talking it up. Je has a “don’t worry be happy vibe”

“But York said the insults he receives from the media and on Twitter do not translate to the real world. During a recent business dinner at the Cooperage in Lafayette, York said five or six fellow diners asked him to take pictures.

“Criticism is so much different on Twitter than it is going out to a restaurant and seeing fans,” York said.

“You take it for what it’s worth, and as long as we do what we believe is right for the San Francisco 49ers, and we’re putting ourselves in a position to do what we ultimately want to do – win with class — I feel good about it. I can look at myself in the mirror and feel very good about where we are. Our team is excited about it, and ultimately our results will prove that.”

So everything is terrific according to Jed as he’s still a rock star being asked to pose with people for pix at “The Cooperage”. The guys at the country club are still on board in his mind.

It just seems either Jed uses “class” to needle people or he juat doesn’t get what it means.

“Jim Tomsula said he won’t coach the offense or the defense. His goal is to be an enabler, not a meddler.”

That was Singletary’s line, more or less. I thought we were supposed to hire a coach to fix the offense.

“Jim Tomsula said he won’t coach the offense or the defense. His goal is to be an enabler, not a meddler.”

If he means that as more than just “nice words” for the media, he’s clueless.

Most new head coaches in a regime change are promised three or four years and given one or two, maybe three if they’re lucky, these days. If it doesn’t fly Tomsula won’t be able to excuse it by saying he ‘enabled’ the wrong people.

You’re the (putative) leader, it’s on you now. Just hope there aren’t too many little ‘Tomsulas’ sneaking around set on making you look bad. But that is the culture you and your bosses have created here.

A coach to fix the offense is different from a coach to run the offense you want to run. Not necessarily one and the same and not guaranteed to accomplish anything that results in either. (see all the bottom feeders running the offense they wanted)

Singletary found an OC to do exactly what he wanted and he was gone in no time due to the ‘brilliance’ of it. Reason number thirty-two a team should hire a guy who’s been-there done-that as despite all rantings to the contrary, past performance is a pretty good indicator of future success.

Johnathan Martin was just released to waivers.
Greg Papa just explained why Wisnewski was not signed by the Seahags and why he didn’t get a sniff from the Niners.
Wisnewski can’t function in a zone blocking scheme.

    Warriors don’t think like Jed.
They won the Pacific Division for the first time in 39 years and are damn proud of it as they should be.
It’s good to be proud of your team’s accomplishments.

Wow. The contradictions in that single post are innumerable, NoFear.

Nolan had been around the league for years, even DCed for a few teams. What did that get him? Jack diddly suck. He was a terrible head coach who would have been better suited (get it?) for, say, as an LB coach in SD.

Sing? Well, did he install toughness? Sure. He got VD to pull his head out of his ass anyway. In the end? Squadoosh. He was lost in the hyperbole of toughness and couldn’t win with a talented team.

Harbaugh? 2 years in the NFL? With the Raiders? That’s your ‘been there, done that?’ Harbaugh actually DID what Tomsula is saying he’s going to do. Harbs didn’t touch the defense, and he, according to Kawakami, directed the traffic coming through his headset from the other offensive coaches. So, I suppose it’s gold when St Jim does it, but it’s dumb when Tomsula does it?

Not sure what your point is, but as usual, its unclear. It would have been much better to get a coach like Teflon Mike? Aluminum Mike? A college coach? What?

And Bullitt, how classy is it to be unsure if your DE is a wife-beater and let him play?

Look, I ain’t sold on the Geepster, but we were trending into the shitter with the current version of the Roman offense.

  71. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Sorry but Ray McDonald could sue you for libel.
Like I told you suspensions are the purvey of the front office
and a decision for Jed or Trent. You would like tom blame everything on Harbaugh but it doesn’t apply.
So now Ray McDonald plays for the Bears because the NFL has also looked into everything that’s happened and can’t find anything wrong.

Unlike you screaming for due process for a murderer Aaron Hernandez. You proclaimed that he would be back playing in the NFL within a year. You are notorious for being on then wrong side of issues.

  72. Unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

What? Harbaugh can’t bench him? Duhhhh. After chiding his brother for welcoming back Ray Rice with open arms?

  73. Unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

The only one screaming around here is you, squidly.

Funny that one of the few times I post a link to a story (about the supposed problems with the Hernandez case early on) you gleefully leap to the erroneous conclusion that I endorsed it or wrote it or some shit. I guess posting differing opinions than the ones spouted here I know is verboten. Like the recent Lynch article.

But that’s you, wildly leaping to the wrong conclusions. Like how j smith holding out is s sign that smith will re-up. Then the next day it’s a sign that he won’t. I guess you got that one right. Depending on the day.

One just needs to look at your post which you did write.
    Back to lying again Chuckles?

    New post is up.

  76. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

So I guess that makes Harbaugh the FO puppet if he can’t bench one of his players.

That’s why you didn’t post the thread. Because you never do that, Your MO is to POST them skippy. God you are as deep as a puddle.

Yeah yeah, I posted on a previous thread. Blow yourself.
