… a message from Skeebette…
It is with great sadness that I have to write this message. My sweet Steve, Skeebers to all of you, completed his life journey on December 11, 2021. Although we were together for 30 years, his talent for writing didn’t rub off on me but I’ll try to say what’s in my heart. He truly enjoyed writing this blog and he was animated when he spoke about how many people faithfully replied to posts and kept the dialogue going. I know many of you by your names because he’d often sit back in his chair and tell me about a witty post-reply that really got his attention and made an impression on him. As you may or may not know, football never was ‘my thing’ but I learned to appreciate the game. More importantly, I loved that my husband loved writing this blog and he was genuinely fond of you all.
Here’s a link to his obituary in case any of you want to know a little more about his life.
My deepest condolences (there’s no good phrase for exactly what people mean at a time like this. Sorry for expressing this so poorly.)
I spent many years reading this blog and enjoyed the interactions I had.
I hope you find comfort and solace from family and friends.
Ah, Mr. Flectch… I get it and you expressed it so perfectly. Thank you.
Last Sunday, the day after Skeebs passed away, the boys from Santa Clara won a big game in OT. I like to think they won one for the Skeebs. Safe travels in another realm, dear brother. Until we meet again.
OT games brought a lot of excitement and tension into our home. Actually, that’s when I learned to ‘love it’ more than like it. Go Niners!
Heartfelt condolences to you and the family Skeebette.
I sensed things weren’t right when he wasn’t here.
I much appreciated his wit and ease of read.
RIP Steve…..Glad to have had this forum with you for as long as I have.
Skeebs blog was way more than a place to speak your mind and even with the many different opinions it was more like family. I am so sorry to hear the sad news. I know there is a light and I am sure Skeebers is there. He will be missed. RIP
Beautiful message Skeebette. Thank you for writing it, prayers with you and Steve.
RIP Skeebs. You were an excellent writer.
Well Damn. Just saw this. I’m really sorry. Skeebs kept us all amused and entertained, and seemed like a genuinely decent guy. He’ll be missed.
Wow I just saw this. Also sensed something was off and now worst fears have come true.
Skeebers was a class act who often reeled me in went I was going over the rails. He will be missed as well as this blog.
I will miss most of the Niner Faithful who posted here. Keep the faith we will win another Lombardi. When we achieve that I will think of Skeebers.
My prayers and condolences to the Beigel family.
RIP Skeebers.
I know Skeebers is looking down tonight laughing his ass off. This team was supposed to be dead way back in October. Next week they play in the NFC Championship Game. Always something with this damned team.
