Weekend Blathering Hole

I’m initially deciding not to post on the weekends, in order to fake like this site is a real job and I have weekends off. Or just to give myself two days each week to be lazy. Whatever, I’m doing it.

Instead, I’m throwing up this post to open up the “Leave a comment” link, in case anybody feels like bloviating about anything, and whatever I feel like saying will be posted there, not here. Initially, I don’t expect anyone but me to be yapping, but who knows.

Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, start your drivel insightful machines. We’re all ears.

Interesting dynamics happening around the Bay Area blog scene. Maiocco quits the Press Demo and is replaced by the PD Raider reporter, Phil Barber. Kevin Lynch gets his pic removed and then shares hosting duties with David White, formerly the Chron’s Raider reporter. Two Raider reporters jumping ship to cover the 49ers. And Maiocco is sending out Tweets about a 49er confab he’s hosting next Wednesday night. Musical chairs.

I’m putting together a list of prominent Alex Smith haters so we can be sure the right people are invited to the big Eat Crow feast at the end of the year. Should be fun! Smith should be there to hand out the portions, but he’s too nice a guy. I bet Oneniner wouldn’t mind doing the honors, though.

Looks like all the rookies have made it through their first minicamp without any of them already being labeled a bust. No small achievement in the violent world of the football blogosphere.

Just noticed the SF Chron is making you buy an online subscription to read the columns by Gwen Knapp, Scott Ostler, and Bruce Jenkins – but not Ray Ratto. Knapp, Ostler, and Jenkins are probably not too pleased, since they will lose readers. Ratto’s probably not too pleased either, since he’s evidently not considered worth buying a subscription to read him. Ha ha ha. Fun and games at the Sporting Green.
