It Can’t Happen Here

Lots of bodies flying off the shelves last week. The 49ers didn’t acquire any of them, and they lost Emmanuel Sanders and traded Deforest Buckner for the 13th pick in this Draft. Weaker on offense and defense. For now.

Not much to fault about losing either guy, though. Both of them went for the money. Buckner was a good player, but not $21 million a year worth. Defensive tackles don’t turn teams into winners, no matter how dominant they are. And Buckner was the only player other than George Kittle who commanded any real value in a trade.

The skyrocketing cost of NFL “superstars” is forcing teams that want to stay competitive to essentially treat draft picks that turn out great as four year “rentals” then trade them in on a younger, cheaper model. Arik Armstead got a $17 million a year contract, but as I understand it, most of that money doesn’t kick in until year three. So, the Niners will get two more years out of him, then probably trade him, too.

At least the NFL is conducting business. They’re about the only sport operating at the moment. Nobody is checking the Sports pages each morning these days, though. They’re checking the latest Coronavirus numbers. Infected, cured, dead. Nearly over 50% of reported cases are in New York alone. No other state is remotely close. More than 10 times the amount of cases as California.

Are the numbers going to explode through the roof, or peak and start to recede? And when? Weeks? Months? Morbid fascination as we sit at home and try to comprehend the strange new world we suddenly find ourselves living in.

Exit of DeFo and EMan and new contracts for AA and Ward kind of a wash as far as cap so not looking good for a 2021 2nd and trade for DT successor to DeFo. We hurt. DT draft class weak this year. Only Brown and Kinlaw graded in the 1st this year. FA has some leftovers but a trade for Leonard Williams way to expensive.

Both 1st’s may have to be traded down. Not enough picks but really need RG, CB2, WR1, and DT. For roster quality and cap savings.

DJ Jones is the only DT 300 lb and is too short for 3 tech. Some day 3 picks can be bundled with Breida and Solly for trades, but is it wise.

DeFo’s successor is not on the roster, either direct or a rotation piece. IOL cannot keep the pocket clean. Cannot compete for SB with what we have now.

Is Hurd still hurting or just noise before the draft to disguise our intentions. If Hurd is healthy that helps a lot.

  3. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“Half a year later, Hurd still hasn’t been medically cleared for on-field activities. Speaking from the 2020 NFL Combine, general manager John Lynch said, “Come April 1 for our offseason program he’ll be a full go.”

WR Room post draft: WR1, Deebo, Bourne, Hurd, Taylor

It works, whether 5 or 6 on 53 man roster. Goodwin is gone probably with the draftees WR1 able to take the top off. Or he or Dorsett or … can be the 6th on the list. With Samuel not sure Taylor is needed for the underneath patterns.

The reason why the virus #’s are lower out here is that very few have been tested. They don’t want you to be tested. Anyone that decides to go to the hospital is is probably tripling their chances of getting it.

So far the winners in the west with FA are Seattle and AZ. If the season goes on as planned it looks like it’s gonna be a dogfight. The Rams might not be as tough but by dumping a lot of dead weight it shouldn’t be to long before they are in the mix also.

  6. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bakkentom IOL needs Jimmy to get the ball out of his hands more efficiently too.
I put much of the SB meltdown on him, as well as Shanny and Saleh.
Many of his throws were a step behind his targets and cost RAC ops.

I also look at 2 batted passes, in big spots, to be more on Jimmy than IOL.
Staring down a target and telegraphing his intent specifically.
I’ll try to forget the overthrow to Sanders too.

  7. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

NJ, those are correctable flaws. How? Fix the damn pass pro with this below caliber oline.

KS uses smaller quicker lineman in OZ. All of them look great when matchups in their favor. OL shines on outside stretch the field runs. Drawback is pass pro where Jimmy feels the pressure and does not step into throws. And it is all OL. Old man Staley has the muffs, McGlinchey is a OZ run blocker and muffs a lot of blocks. IOL collectively allows a good DL to bulldoze the pocket. Accept reality.

  8. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Jimmy got rattled and fell into some bad habits, courtesy of OL.

Some high picks need to go to OL. Yunno, athletic stud 310 pounders. If old man Staley starts screwing up in September trade him and assess Brunskill, Coleman, and Skule for rest of season.

Staley getting big bucks for on field performance, not hamming it up on his Joe Show. He needs to worry about present, not past performance. LT’s keep QB from getting killed.

We have a cap problem. I can see Staley, Sherman, and Thomas not on 2021 roster underperforming their contracts.

  9. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

We lost DeFo. How many stars on this team now. Jimmy, Kittle, Bosa, ?? Need stars out of this draft. Coaching staff did a good job molding a solid team effort out of a lot of above average players.

  10. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Can Cesar Ruiz do OZ. If so, trade down and get him in the 20’s. He may not last long.

  11. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Would help if Dee Ford got his contract restructured.

  12. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Holding the ball isn’t the fault of the OLine Bakkentom –
That’s indecision on Jimmy’s part, and yes, it’s correctable.
Shanny chooses this system to keep R/P options available but, when tendencies are calculated by the D-COs, Jimmy get’s exposed. Hesitation kills the timing, kills the play.

My likely to be considered completed ‘Wish List’ –

    LSU C Lloyd Cushenberry III (6’3″/312) (5.27)
    MI C Cesar Ruiz (6’3″/307) (5.08)
OH St C Josh Myers (6’5″/310)
    OK C Creed Humphrey (6’5″/316)

    Temple G/C Matt Hennessey (6’4″/307) (5.18)
    Ball St G Danny Pinter (6’4″/306) (4.91)
    Auburn G Jack Driscoll (6’5″/306) (5.02)
    Boise OT/G Ezra Cleveland (6’6″/311) (4.93)

UGA OT Andrew Thomas (6’5″/315) (5.22)
Tx Tech OT Terence Steele (6’6″/312) (5.03)
SC St OT Alex Taylor (6’8″/308) (5.09)
UCONN OT Matt Peart (6’7″/318) (5.06)
UNC OT Charlie Heck (6’8″/311) (5.16)

  13. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Guys like Cleveland and Pinter move very well and likely won’t cost much in terms of slotting.
I really like Peart from UCONN and Hennessy from Temple too.

I’ll wager that Hennessy is already on the Draft list in Carolina because Ruhle had him in his system already.
I’ve seen him play and, he looks like a very capable Center to me, for our System.

  14. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Cowgurls Center Travis Frederick retired yesterday due to medical condition.
Looks like Jerruh needs a center and should be a draft priority.

  15. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Scouting staff will have to reach deep into their bag of value this year to stretch draft capital and find day 2 gems.

Lists of NJ and bullit will be hit on day 2. D will not be the same without an adequate DeFo 2.0 to help the other 3 DL. IOL and DT is critical this season. CB and WR1 next year. Those 4 gems need to be identified and fluid in the draft board. Also like S Jeremy Chinn in Rd 3 or 4.

All the later picks can be used as sweeteners in trade ups, quality not quantity this season. If Thomas and Breida have to be sacrificed, so be it. A Kittle-lite move TE would be good also. But that may be asking too much with the salary cap handcuffs.

  16. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“The 49ers are signing former Chargers WR Travis Benjamin”

  17. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Will be interesting to see the roster priorities manifest itself in the draft. No longer building the roster. Fix weaknesses with draft upgrades. Major FA moves kneecapped with the cap.

Should we roll with Mosely/Witherspoon opposite Sherman? NN Posey says yes. We were exposed in SB. Our DL advantage negated in 4th quarter with the uncalled holding penalties. KC receivers seperated with slow Sherman and Mosely out there. We have no guarantee DeFo will have a comparable successor. Am in on late 1st CB.

2nd Rd DT a must. Scout well. Single teamed, gotta get a 300 lb plus rush/pass Defo type. Gotta try cuz SB quest.

IOL upgrade a must with both OZ and pass pro capability. Upgrade this year at RG.

WR1 because of strong draft class. High salary position, this keeps cap space too.

Lack of big FA activity seems to point 100% on draft. Go scouts.

  18. winderNo Gravatar says:

Benjamin is probably this years Matthews. they have signed a few people the last couple of days but they mostly seem like long shots to make it, probably TC fill-ins.

I don’t know where the finacial line is for us getting another inside D-line guy is but we are probably going to get one with our 1st pick. I don’t think we draft low 1st rd WR’s.

  19. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

The NFL has changed and the passing game is protected with new rules to help create exciting finishes. Need a strong D to get there but SB excitement warrants the big O with passing.

Even if we go #13 for DeFo 2.0 if Brown or Kinlaw still there it is not enough for SB. Our O has to get better at scoring points. Pass pro has to get better preserving a pocket.

  20. winderNo Gravatar says:

There are a lot of good O-linemen out there, wouldn’t bother me a bit to get one at 13. Since we are a run fist team we could probably get a good WR at 31 but I just don’t see KS doing that. After a little thought, Benjamin might really help us out. He really showed flashes of being a good #2 receiver for awhile. Didn’t keep up with him so I don’t know much about him.

  21. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Travis Benjamin’s nickname “the Belle Glade Blur”.
He ran a 4.32 at his NFL combine in 2012.

  22. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Per Barrows at THE ATHLETIC loss of Sanders will likely get the Niners a 5th round compensatory pick in the 2021 draft.

Benjamin was signed as the Niners also had interest in Phillip Dorsett as a FA who signed with Seahags.

“The 49ers like Benjamin’s versatility, including as a punt returner. He’s handled 109 punts in his career — though none last season in Los Angeles — and has a 10.9-yard average over his career. The 49ers’ incumbent returner, Richie James, has a 7.5-yard career average. Benjamin, James and Trent Taylor could compete for that job in the upcoming offseason.”

  23. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Between those three, you’d think we have our slot guys covered. Still need another outside guy to pair with Deebo. I’d like to see Hurd make it but with the slow healing injury you cannot really count on him for this year until you see it.

  24. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Jimmie Ward turned down the Raiduhs and a bigger contract to remain with the Niners.

Niners did pick the best player in last year’s draft, no question about that.

I have said it from the beginning, Trump is more Hollywood than 90% of Hollywood. If what they say about a second wave hitting in early fall we can pretty much forget about a football season also.

  35. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Calling Trump “hollywood” is giving him too much credit.

He is more cable channel hawker trying to sell you something useless.

If this goes into the summer does this jeopardize the upcoming football season?
Will they pay the players their contracts? If there is no season will it count as a year of a 5 year deal?

It never should’ve gotten to this stage. When you see a fire starting and you call it a hoax and do nothing until the neighborhood is burning down a few weeks later. That lost two weeks of doing nothing has really made this the crisis what it has turned into. For Trump it’s all about profit and nothing else matters.

Lot’s of FA and signings going on out there but nothing for the Niners recently.

  46. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I wonder if Lynch talked to Texans about Deandre Hopkins and if Houston would’ve accepted Buckner straight up for Hopkins.

  49. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Stepping back with a high level view of draft priorities.

Trenches highest priority. If Kinlaw there at #13 take him. IOL at #31 or maybe trade down a bit if draft board good quality.

Those two are highest priprity. If quality WR can be snuck in on day 2 fine.

  50. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    I really like this guy

Maybe at #31 or if you trade pick #13 if Jeudy is gone.

  51. bullitNo Gravatar says:

So Chris Simms has a 24 min video devoted to Chase Claypool.

Remember he was Shanahan’s roomate at Texas so I’m sure the coach is also quite aware of Claypool.

  52. NJ49ERNo Gravatar says:

    We agree on Claypool Bullit.
He and Kittle would be an awesome tandem IMO.

  53. winderNo Gravatar says:

Claypool seems like a pretty solid pick. I think when KS/Lynch picked Hurd he had visions of Claypool’s style of play. Maybe having both of em would rock our offense.

  54. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Calvin Johnson like, this guy moves into the 1st rd. Lots of decisions for us. Potentially nothing on day 2 if these guys available at our picks.

Kinlaw #13, Claypool #31. To me this is ideal. Reality says be prepared both will be gone when we are on the clock.

With Claypool max potential not realized since Jimmy’s survival demands pass pro upgrade with IOL, no long patterns. Save impact picks in 2021 to upgrade CB and IOL.

  55. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

We do know what we have at DT without Kinslaw, weakness with small players on roster and no money for FA’s. We don’t know what we have at big WR with Hurd’s back situation.

Reality sucks. Made it to SB, deal with the consequences.

  56. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Where did our cap go? Dee Ford and Solomon Thomas.

  57. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Risk of injury to DT versus WR. Remember CHI Kevin White.

If Brown or Kinlaw there at #13, take him.

  58. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

OTA’s start April 1, so in 3 weeks FO will know about his back injury recovery and set up draft board with confidence.

We won’t know, but Lynch and KS will.

  59. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Grab these guys to take DT off our 1st three picks list?

Can wait on DT to a later draft?

  60. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Always risk, let’s remember AJ Jenkins.

Like I said before if you take a Dlineman and he turns out to be like Buckner you’re going to have to pay him after you most likely make Bosa the highest paid pass rusher in the league. Armstead needs to step up because he just got paid.

Position of immediate need is WR. Otherwise Kittle will be constantly
and apparently have forgotten how things were before they traded for Sanders last year.
doubled and become less effective. You cannot ignore the WR position

  61. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    constantly doubled

  62. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

AA is better because the other 3 DL. Buck is gone and AA is not dominant by himself.

Getting Kinslaw means D is set for SB runs, CB can be FA’s later if we have cap. With Thomas’s first contract done after season we could afford FA CB’s.

AA is not gonna overachieve in this contract. Needs help with DeFo 2.0. Am hoping Kinslaw is there at #13. Use further high draft picks on O until it catches and passes the D. SB wins require that.

If Dee is not fully healthy he needs to restructure next offseason. Solly’s next contract much smaller if still on roster.

If Hurd healthy he could turn out to be WR1.

  63. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Hurd is very raw and was a RB before moving to WR at Baylor and has only played that position for oinly 2 years.
Quite a leap to think he can be your #1. He has two good plays in preseason so you are really stretching his abilities.

  64. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

How much can we stretch the draft capital this year and add in roster turnover at same time. Would love to have Chase Claypool, Deebo, Hurd, Benjamin, Bourne or Pettis. But Taylor and James are out. Do we go 5 or 6 WR, could have 3 of those names off team.

Also assume Claypool is late 1st from our own since #13 too early for a WR from past niner behavior and Jenkins disaster, or a tradedown since neither DT’s Brown or Kinslaw is there at #13. So two “rookies” Claypool and Hurd are in unit of 5 or 6.

My opinion is no WR at #13 with our needs and deep quality WR draft class. If Brown/Kinslaw not there, tradedown. If FA DT’s used instead, tradedown or pick stud OT as Staley’s successor. DT or OT, or tradedown. That is just me. Would you take Claypool at #13?

Injury risk tells me to stay away from Claypool until second half of first. Unless Hurd IR’d, he is on roster, a 3rd RD pick.

  65. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

This may be our last chance with two in 1st rd, make it count. Our own pick most likely at end of each round for next 5 years.

  66. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Texas just offered Laremy Tunsil 18.5 mil a year. IND has a loaded roster by adding Buck and Phillip Rivers. What if LT Castanzo gets IR’d early. If they asked for Staley in a trade to continue to compete for SB.

If they asked for Staley for their 3rd in 2021, would you do it?

My answer in a heartbeat. Better for the team long term. Even if it keeps us out of playoffs this year. Sherman and Staley will both be gone in two years.

  67. winderNo Gravatar says:

If we stick at 13 I think we go OL. It’s a pretty good class of tackles this year and at that position we should get a good one. Not ignoring the need for a # 1 WR but I would be truly surprised if we take one at 13. We actually need quite a bit of help now we lost some pretty good backups.

  68. bullitNo Gravatar says:

“If they asked for Staley for their 3rd in 2021, would you do it?”

I would say hell no, not even for a #3 in 2020. Why are you in such a big hurry to shuffle the Oline? Team ranked 4th in total offense and 4th in rushing offense. Why mess with success?

PFF graded Staley as the 10th best OT last season. You don’t mess with success as if you want to replace Staley, that player has to be better and I don’t see him on the roster.

Trading Staley for a 2021 3rd round pick is a Trent Baalke move.

  69. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Niners already let Person go and will have a new RG. Getting rid of Staley who could have 2-3 years left means you are replacing 40% of your Oline.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before you’ll want Richburg gone as yoiu’ve suggested for the last 2 years.

Hate to enlighten you but teams that constantly shuffle personnel are losers like the Browns.

  70. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

AZ/NYJ/LVR all likely to shop WRs ahead of us.
Chances the DBrown/Kinlaw slide is a faint possibility when you throw in a QB or 2.
I’d play the Board which is what they always do.
    OL/DL always my first approach.

    Protect the QB.
    Sack the QB.

Take the BPA at 13 regardless of position.
Staley will likely be replaced by McGlinch when it’s time, unless we steal a better option at 13.

I’m always looking for THE Fat Man in the Middle to collapse the pocket too.
Here’s my Top NT this year –
Utah NT Leki Fotu (6’4″/330) (5.15)

  71. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Kinlaw is 6’5″/324 with 34-7/8″ arms.
He’s a freak with good strength.
I didn’t put he or DBrown on my wish list because I expect them to go Top 10.

Another guy that compares favorably with DeFo is Raekwon Davis from ‘Bama.
6’7″ 311 and he moves very well for a big guy.
Again, didn’t put him on the list simply because there are so many other options and, we’re light on Picks.

Looking forward to at least having the Draft to break the monotony.

  72. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’m kinda speculating that Lynch and Co might be looking for a plugger inside?

Huge omission from your list of Dlinemen
You are missing the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year James Lynch from Baylor. That guy is a beast and projected as a 2nd rd pick

This guy is so disruptive and will make his mark in the NFL

The scenario I see the Niners taking him is trading away #13 for two #2s and a 4th rounder this year.

  75. bullitNo Gravatar says:

People sequestered at home have too much time on their hands and this leads to rumors and speculation.

These have been floated so take with a grain of salt

Cam Newton signs as Jimmy G’s backup (unlikely as we can’t afford even $10 mil for a backup QB)

Lynch trades for Carolina WR Curtis Samuel (numbers are similar to Bourne so why would Lynch make this trade)

Jordan Reed TE (perpetually injured, he has averaged starting 6 games a year in 7 seasons) would take a look if he was released but not giving anything of value in a trade. Can be productive if healthy, the problem is when is he ever healthy?

The OBJ rumor which is wishful thinking on the Brown’s part but shot down by Jay Glazer of Fox because the Browns want too much in return.
I think this would be a huge mistake and ruin team chemistry.
Don’t bring a diva onto the team.

  76. bullitNo Gravatar says:

The Bungles just released CB Dre Kirkpatrick to save cap room.

He sustained a knee injury and was geeting paid $11 mil a season.

Lynch might want to kick the tires if price is right.

  77. winderNo Gravatar says:

bullit- who said anything about trading Staley. When you have a chance to grab a quality tackle you do it. Your view is good unless some injuries happen which they will. Richburg probably won’t make it through the year and more than likely either will Staley. You want to see a productive offense you protect Jimmy otherwise no WR is gonna have a great year. Anyway, my opinion is always to strengthen the trenches even though I personally love the classy picks but I actually think one of our weakest areas is on the OL.

  78. bullitNo Gravatar says:

BKTom put that question out there in his post yesterday at 10:03am

He would get a 2021 3rd rounder in return, not even a pick in this year’s draft.

  79. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Don’t underestimate the role of character in Lynch and Kyle’s decisions.

We’ve been burned in recent years with guys like Aldon and Reuben.

I would very frankly rather have a 5.5 with good work ethic and a team player, than a 6.0 who is a primadonna or timebomb.

New England’s model of team players and character over raw talent works a hell of a lot better than many teams like the Browns.

  80. bullitNo Gravatar says:

If in talking to Staley if Joe indicates he’ll stick around for 2 more seasons with the goal of winning a ring then I don’t use draft capital this year because I would like to see what Shon Coleman is all about.
If you draft a OT you are pushing Coleman aside and you still have Skule and Brunskill to develop and also have Garland. If you spend a high draft pick who do you let go?

Right now you have to find someone to replace Sanders because before he got here only Kittle was a threat in the passing game. Deebo did not start producing until Sanders arrived.Jimmy can use one more downfield threat.

  81. winderNo Gravatar says:

bullit- Thanks I missed the bktom post. It does make sense to draft a #1 WR I just have a feeling they won’t do it unless they trade out of the # 13 position.

  82. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I am expecting similar production this coming season from Armstead.

If not why the hell did he get that contract?

  83. BakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Why did AA get that second contract? Because he has the best attributes that fit big DE on base downs and undertackle pass rush on nickel/dime.

He is a complementary player that needs DeFo 2.0 to bring out his best.

AA’s key will be one of the two or three high draft picks.

  84. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit, I agree, Baylor DT James Lynch is more than worthy.
I did compare him with Madubuike from A&M and gave the nod to him.

Very close IMO – Either guy in the right slot for us would work.

    Tx A&M DT Justin Madubuike (6’3″/293) (4.83) (31 Reps)
Baylor DT James Lynch (6’4″/289) (5.01) (23 Reps)

Both posted 1.73 Splits in Indy, along with almost identical 3-cone numbers.

Gave the nod to Madubuike for longer arms arms and higher bench Reps.

    I’m a numbers geek sometimes 😀

  85. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Lynch did have almost 2x the sacks though.
    20 Sacks 33 TFL to 11 & 24.5

Hard to be disappointed with either in my comparisons.
Just goes to show how deep this Draft is in areas we’ll be shopping.

    WR/DT especially.

    You might have mentioned him?
    WR Justin Jefferson from LSU.

I omitted him in favor of Mims from Baylor on my list but, both guys are extremely productive options IMO.

Again, BPA at 13 could include him? Especially if CeeDee, Jeudy and Ruggs get snatched up ahead of us.

    Ought to be interesting.

  86. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I favor Lynch because of his football instincts. He has “it”, the thing you cannot measure which allows him to smell out plays. I compare him to “Cowboy” Justin Smith which is high praise but I have seen enough of Lynch to know Lynch is special.

I think Jeudy is the most polished WR in the draft and will be able to combat and beat press coverage which seems to be the root of failures in the transition from college to the NFL at WR. For me Lamb is Michael Crabtree and we already have that player in Deebo. Ruggs is intriguing as the fastest and the fact that he only dropped one pass last season shows his upside.

Two teams in front of Niners that might take WRs are Jest and Raiduhs. One projection is four QBs might be taken before the Niners pick and Raiduhs are one of the teams looking at QB which is a boost for Niner draft hopes.

  87. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Holy crap!!! Estimate that 100,000 people are going to succumb to virus
in the next two months is unreal. Thinks about it. That’s like filling up the Rose Bowl and having all those people die.

70% of the country is in lockdown. Time for the rest of the country to do the same or this isn’t going to work. Not sure why Florida is resisting. Trump should tell Florida to comply or they go to the back of the line for medical supplies and equipment because they still have people going to the beach and not giving a shit.

Stay safe Outsiders and looking forward to the draft and discussion that comes with it.

  88. bullitNo Gravatar says:

If you say Armstead is a complementary player and needs a Buckner to be successful then the Niners are wasting their money and will only keep Armstead until his contract balloons to $16mil a year.

Blair and Julian Taylor are complementary players Armstead needs to stand on his own and perform like he did last season.

Moscow Mitch McConnell is floating the idea that the impeachment of Trump caused the distraction and allowed the pandemic to happen.

What a crock of bullshit as Trump was “so busy” playing golf, going to Florida every weekend and having several campaign rallies a week.
The so called commander in chief should spend the rest of his life in prison for dereliction of duty as his negligence caused a lot of lives.

Moscow Mitch should also go to prison for obstruction of justice.

Everyone should be pissed as never before because never before hAs something like this threatened the entire nation especially family and friends and has caused so much suffering.

One just has to listen to the clown damning himself with his own words and making a joke of it instead of protecting the nation

    He’s the Wartime President Bullit.
He’s a legend in his own mind. Always has been.

The question is whether his mind was ever focused on anything but himself.
I’m sure we know the answer to that.

I could never take him seriously because he lives to suck every ounce of wattage from the spotlight.
The result of being born with a Brinks truck in the garage I guess?

Money and self promotion is all that matters in his head.

Him, as Commander in Chief, has always been an embarrassment to anyone in my lifetime who Served this Country, both immediate family and friends.
He talks a good game about America, but when it was time to defend Her, he came up lame, simply because he was affluent enough to weasel his way out.
I’ve got no respect for wimps that pound their chests to steal credit when it suits them, and point fingers and attach blame for all things they can’t accept responsibility for.

I’m all for calling it the Hoax-45 virus in his honor, but for the fact that so many people will lose their lives due his pompous and dismissive arrogance when he had the early warnings.

Even when reality bites him in his big fat A$$, he’ll steal the spotlight to blame others. He’ll never utter the words to admit to a mistake, simply tell the world he’s perfect, and, see who salutes.

All his ‘BEST’ people, who are running this Country, are simply people who kiss his big fat A$$.
And just like him, most of them are ‘ACTING’.

Gov Cuomo says this is looking like this might go into July in NYC.
WE might be looking at a NFL season that starts in Oct and ends next Apr.

I just watched an interview with a NY Emergency doctor on tv who says if you call 911 in NYC the EMTs will arrive in 2-5 hours and when you get to the ER it’s another 5 hours to be triaged and possibly another 5 hours for them to treat you and find you a bed if you are admitted.
In other words no time to break your arm or have a heart attack.

Trump is still up to his clueless leadership telling everyone there are plenty of medical supplies and floating the idea that masks are being stolen from hospitals in NYC and the media should look into this. You are the President of the United States and you have the FBI and the Justice Dept, so rather than float conspiracy theories why don’t you have the Feds investigate this? It’s that simple.

Sports is vital to the psyche and well being of the general public as it’s a distraction which channels stress but in a good way.
I miss football and even if they play in empty stadiums they should have the season in the fall.

Trump has really made this country great again. We are on level with a banana republic. This is shameful.

Maybe his reasoning that affordable health care is not necessary?

  103. winderNo Gravatar says:

bullit- Since we didn’t get to see Mullens last year my guess is that he’s really grown in the system. He’s already shown the type of player he is and that he’s a true gamer. I wouldn’t trade him even for a 4th. I would trade CJ for a later rd pick though. I am warming up to a WR in the first but I don’t think we will do it at 13. If we stick there I think as before we go OT. There are just to many top quality ones that will probably be available. Trading back for an extra pick or two makes a lot of sense also.

  104. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Two and a half weeks and questions will be answered. Need some draft day trades to help get picks in Rd 3 and 4.

Draft board is key. Certain targets can unexplainably drop. Our hand is forced. OT has Coleman, Skule, and Brunskill for quality depth. Have to count on Staley to start.

WR1, CB1, and RG are the needs. Mahomes and their DT exposed our CB and IOL unit. Need to replace Eman Sanders play, can Hurd do it or too risky. Trade Taylor, Breida, Thomas if it makes sense.
