First vs Worst

The 49ers travel to Philadelphia this weekend for what will probably be a systematic and thorough disembowelment. The Eagles have the best record in the NFC and unless they fall apart down the stretch in a typical Philly meltdown, they might end up with the top seed in the playoffs. The Niners are on the opposite end of the spectrum, vying for the top pick in next year’s Draft.

HC Kyle Shanahan appears to be focusing not so much on wins as player evaluation these days. Just how many guys on the roster are worth keeping around for 2018.

If he’s smart, or intends to have a long and successful career as a HC, the first order of business will be to rid the locker room of the kneeling crowd, beginning with Eric Reid. Reid and his moron followers are being enabled and encouraged by the Niners’ moron owner Jed York. This dimwit has no idea that he’s meddling in the coach’s business, but he is. Until Shanahan regains, or just finally acquires, control of the locker room and establishes some firm discipline, the team will never win anything.

Shanahan appears to be taking steps in that direction by benching Reid in favor of Jacquiski Tartt. His explanation that Reid has more value as a hybrid safety/linebacker in passing situations seems intended to fool Reid and York. But it will make Reid expendable at the end of the year because his presence on the field is weakening the defense against the running game, as Ezekiel Elliott demonstrated last Sunday. It will be no surprise, either, that Reid will have trouble finding employment next offseason, just like the moron who started the dance of the morons discovered last offseason.

It’s entirely possible that somewhere down the line the huffy morons will finally realize that the only thing they are accomplishing is a reduction in the amount of money available to pay the players as ad revenue and viewership decline. Hence, the “moron” appellation.

Of course, bringing in some better players would help a bit, too. But that’s GM John Lynch‘s territory and his 2018 Draft had best be a good one.

yeah, there is a real possibility that we won’t win a game this year. But, I do like the philosophy of playing the youngsters because we have to sort them out anyway. The protests have accomplished absolutely nothing except to piss-off the fan base.

Unless someone bricks up Idiot Jed in his office while cackling “Yes, for the love of God,” the Dance of the Morons is liable to resume at any moment.

And yes, I’m already looking ahead to the draft. And the possible acquisition of Cousins, which would increase our options with that 1st round pick. I figure we’ll have the 2nd – beating the Browns to the bottom of the pile is a tall order.

“Trent Brown (concussion) is not at practice, which makes it a tight window for him to gain clearance for Sunday’s game.”

Get ready for a long day, Beathard.

“If 49ers owner Jed York made some fans angry by asking them if it was important to win, he might also have some problems in his football operation.

As part of a larger survey, the team asked fans: “How important is winning to your stadium experience?”

First-year General Manager John Lynch, during an appearance on KNBR, did not seem pleased.

“Someone brought that to my attention and that’s not something I want reflected in this organization,” Lynch said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “There’s different aspects of an organization. I can promise you this: It didn’t come from my desk. . . .”

And the Yorkster keeps on screwing things up.

So, after the “big” meetings the players are willing to go way out of their way and against their better judgment to stand for the National Anthem, if, that’s IF, the owners don’t mandate it and if the owners take the following actions: come out publicly in support of the players AND take real actions that back whatever ridiculous causes the players decide they want them to back.

AND you can’t say “the inmates are running the prison” anymore because that’s worse than the “n-word” now apparently.

I wonder how inmates running the asylum would work, or maybe lunatics is a better fit anyway.

This is what happens when spoiled children get what they demand by throwing a fit. They throw more fits.

Good Luck to Goodell, the head lunatic.

I think that survey question was meant to be directed to HC Shanahan.

Winning does not seem all that important to the York family. THAT much we know.

Duane Brown’s making a run at replacing Kap as the new douche king. He skips all of training camp and the first six games, while his teammates are trying to win a SB, then comes back and yaps about leadership, while threatening to walkout of the next game.

  9. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

The Duane Browns held an emergency meeting in Seattle to plot the latest clown show of disrespect… for somebody or something, anything will do in these publicity stunts promoting the usual and tired old victimhood theme.

For some inexplicable reason they decided at the last minute not to peel the logo off their helmets. All in all, a perfect proof of the assertion that the inmates are indeed running the asylum. Can things go anywhere but down from here as big Duane and little Richard fight each other for position when the cameras show up?

Speaking of the Browns, it seems the lowly Browns (that’s Cleveland’s not Duane’s) were just waiting for their star player to get IR’d before they decided they could play football again.

Or maybe there’s something in that UK air which deflates most every other team that makes the trip that juices Cleveland players or possibly the smoky interruption to their usual routine shook them off their course in the race to loserville.

  10. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

I guess the Cleveland Browns are back? Reality’s a bitch.

Leger Douzable DL a pickup from the waiver wire is showing more in this half than Erik Armstead has shown in his career.

Niners haven’t won a game in the Eastern time zone since Harbaugh.

Sounds a lot like the dark ages pre-Harbaugh period.

  13. bullitNo Gravatar says:

This is going to get really ugly as both Niner OTs are out and they were the best players on the Oline.

49ers offensive line to open second half:

    LT-Zane Beadles
    LG-Laken Tomlinson
    C-Daniel Kilgore
    RG-Brandon Fusco
    RT-Erik Magnuson

0-8 and still in free fall.

The draft cannot come soon enough.

  16. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Joe Staley has an eye injury and did not return on the team charter
because they weren’t sure if he could be cleared to fly.

  17. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Next two home games against Cards and Giants are most likely the best
    chance for that elusive win.

It’s a 3 game home stand with the game after the bye against the Seahags. Huston has scored 31 points on the Seahags with 10 mis to go in their game.

  18. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

What looked like potential wins prior to the season is far from realistic given the mounting injuries we’re experiencing.
We’ll be signing more players off the street this week I’m sure.
Tank it and evaluate anyone who can suit up at this point.
Defense is spending way too much time on the field because the Offense can’t make a 3rd down conversion on a bet.
    OL is decimated now too.
Might get TBrown back while possibly losing Staley in the process.
Rough season isn’t looking to get any easier at the midway point.

  19. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Trade deadline Tuesday as well.
Hard to see us ‘buying’ anyone, selling would be the way to go, but who?

    New post is up.
