Disarray Juggernaut

The Santa Clara 49ers. Bwaaaaahaaaahaaa!! Wow. What a mess these clowns have become.

Is this a football franchise or a sensitivity session for late bloomers discovering their “blackness,” complete with throw back ’70’s afros to help sell the sincerity? Maybe the Mod Squad will be handling security at home games this year.

Then again, maybe this is just some lame brain idea of Jed York to distract attention from the product on the field. Led by a brand new HC who’s supposed to return the franchise to glory, but will be hard pressed to even equal former HC Jim Tomsula‘s woeful 5-11 disaster last season.

Is it too much to hope that come next Monday night we’ll be able to simply watch a football game without having to wade through the mewlings and activities of our washed-up, $12 million backup QB who came into the league drawing attention to the muscles on his arms and is leaving the league drawing attention to the muscles between his ears?

Not that 49er football is anything to get excited about these days. Almost all of the young WRs brought in to bolster that woeful offensive group ended up on the cutting room floor over the weekend. Three went to IR and the rest went to nowhere. Sixth round pick Aaron Burbridge was the only one left on the roster.

Instead, GM Trent Baalke imported an injury prone castoff from KC and a not good enough gent from Detroit. This is pretty much how Baalke tries to stock the skill positions. Sixth round picks and guys other GMs have developed.

Baalke tried to re-stock the QB position with a sixth rounder, too, but Jeff Driskel was claimed off waivers by the Bengals, foiling that particular plan. Instead, we go into the season with three bust QBs from the 2011 draft. Which is another Baalke favorite — signing players who used to be good or never were but went high in their draft class.

For Baalke, everything is about “value.” Drafting a guy in the third round who would have gone in the first if he hadn’t ruined his knee. Unfortunately, knees are kind of important in football and these ACL picks have turned out to be closer to valueless than valuable.

Admit it guys, isn’t it a lot more fun ripping Baalke and York and watching the Niners get pasted each week than it is keeping track of politically correct handwringings?

Exactly, Kap should do his job.
Does anyone think he’s worth the #11 plus million he’s getting paid?

That means knowing the offense and playbook by intense study of it. That’s doing your job and executing the offense. Having to huddle defeats the purpose of the up tempo and allows the defense to counter with substitutions.

Skeebs we’re nothing if not front page news huh?
For all the wrong reasons 馃檨
I’m going to keep a modest amount of optimism for what is a youthful Defense, that they might just play to win because they aren’t expected to.

And in a Ph*ck me moment just learned the Cards have added Aaron Murray to their practice squad.

Baalke has got to go. He’s useless standing pat with this roster.

If you think this current team is devoid of talent at skill positions, just look to the GM.

The Niners were only one of two teams not to add anyone on their roster from the waiver wire.

    Nice going Trent.

Yes Bullit, there’s just a whisper of ‘what have you done for us lately’ with Kaep.
Can’t help but wonder if he’s checked out of the NFL already?

    Talk about Non-Football publicity.
Obama is chiming in on this Horsesh!t now too?

Is it more fun watching the team that York/Balkey built implode than listening to the uber ‘virtuous’ instruct us on the failings of our society? Yes it is no doubt. Prolem is we have so many layers of BS to wade through to get to actual football. I suppose when we are good and traumatized at 1-6 that we will be properly paying attention to the functioning of our Team. I mean the dysfunctioning of our team. I think. I mean that’s going to be really great, right? It’s soooo confusing… Which will come first Kaepernick’s first win or Obama inviting him to the White House to receive a medal?

    Dysfunction Junction Phil.

  8. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

And another Baalke ACL pick (3rd round) counts for nothing this year:

“The 49ers have signed RB DuJuan Harris, placed CB Will Redmond on Injured Reserve.”

  9. winderNo Gravatar says:

Wow, that’s surprising. This just keeps getting better and better.

  10. winderNo Gravatar says:

Now that seattle has a couple of our playbooks and a promising former player of ours I wonder if Kelly will adjust a few things, Naaa, we will be fine.

  11. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Of the many mistakes Baalke has made, not re-signing Boldin for another year might prove fatal for the offense. There simply isn’t a dependable receiver that can get open on this offense.

The fact that Smith and Patton caught zero passes in pre-season is troubling. IMHO Torrey Smith is still an unknown having a very mediocre 2015. At what he’s getting paid he needs to catch 5 receptions a game (80 for the year) with 10 TDs or he’ll be a bust at $8 mil a season.

  12. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Could the Redmond move be geared toward protecting a Roster Spot for another piece perhaps?
Seems McCray failed the physical with Seattle.

  13. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Baalke picks Redmond and says he’ll be fine.
He’s missing until the third preseason game and now he’s out for the year.

    Sad, pathetic and disheartening

  14. bullitNo Gravatar says:

You mean the Niners aren’t getting that 2019 seventh round pick from the Seahags?

That changes all future draft plans.

  15. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“49ers TE Bruce Miller reportedly arrested for assault of 70-year-old man and his son.”

  16. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Yeh I guess not Bullit –
Simply a throw away Pick anyway for a guy they planned to release.
Bigger concern is what the eff Bruce is getting into here.

  17. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

They haven’t filled the PS limit and, it would figure that DuJuan swapped that roster spot with Redmond.
Not sure McCray is PS eligible either?

  18. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’m getting a headache from all this 9er drama of late –

  19. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I liked Bruce Miller but this is the end of the road for him if the allegations are true.
Randomly knocking on a door and then assaulting someone proves there is something wrong upstairs.
Hoping it’s a mistake but the hotel has cameras which should prove it one way or another.
Whatever message lil Jed and Baalke are sending to their players, it’s falling on deaf ears.

Punching a 70 year old man in the face and breaking bones could be deemed attempted murder. Miller had to have been drunk or high.

Another roster spot just opened up.

  20. winderNo Gravatar says:

bullit- Not only that but ‘elder abuse’ it’s a charge that carries the same consequences that child abuse does.

  21. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Not a good situation by any stretch Bullit.
We’re experiencing life in Bizarro World of late.
I just can’t think of anything, beyond the possibility that Inca Burial Grounds were desecrated in Santa Clara, that unleashed a pox we may never get away from.

  22. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’m going out on a leash here but, I’ll assume Bruce wasn’t playing the knock/knock Land Shark gag?

  23. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“The 49ers announce they have released TE Bruce Miller.”

  24. winderNo Gravatar says:

I guess the money brings some sort of entitlement. You just can’t go around hurting people. Unless your in politics.

  25. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

    2. Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey has always known what Fitzpatrick is, and to Gailey鈥檚 credit, he鈥檚 always tailored his offense to accommodate him. Gailey employs a lot of spread formations, which widen the field and help minimize the risks that Fitzpatrick takes. Wider space means fewer defenders near the rocket balls he throws. Spread sets also mean quicker dropbacks and route timing. That鈥檚 another way to regulate Fitzpatrick.

  26. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

One reason for cutting Miller immediately: if he was still on the roster by tomorrow evening, I think his entire salary for the year would be guaranteed.

  27. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Pales next to money wasted on kap. When is idiot getting released.

  28. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

    “When is idiot getting released.”

He’s Obama’s pet now, not going to happen this season. Maybe March 2017?

Miller, wow, dumb. Bruce please consider getting off booze and taking care of yourself instead of drinking

  29. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’d feel much differently, if Bruce was seeking the room of Dr Daddy and his Son and, simply made a mistake.
    What a flaming circus…

  30. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Gee what a surprise. NOT.
The 4-letter Network looking for some interest at Kaep’s expense?

  31. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Kap can do a handstand during the anthem for all I care.
His credibility went out the window for me when he reneged on his commitment to the church on Sunday, using training as an excuse.
I hope the local press monitors his $1 mil contribution and how fast it’s forthcoming and where it goes.

I will be first to applaud him on making good on his pledge depending on where it goes.

  32. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Extremely disappointed that they released Smelter on an injury settlement basically giving up on him.
That and Redmond being put on IR show just how Baalke is squandering draft picks by gambling and losing. Perhaps the medical people making the evaluations should be replaced for their overly optimistic diagnoses. When it comes to making draft picks you need to be realistic and optimism just leads to disappointment.

  33. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Drew Brees will not renegotiate his contract once the season starts.
Just a thought that the Niners would throw money at Brees for 2-3 years of QB stability.
Only problem is the Niners have a void of talent to catch passes.

    Food for thought.

  34. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

JJ overload has happened. Started when Johnnie looked like crap against a real defense = GB. Then the Anthem flap nailed it into overload territory. I see an article on him or somebody yakking about him, etc. I immediately tune out and turn off. Enough with this guy. Impress me with your play JJ otherwise I could care less.

  35. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

The 49ers don’t get it. Fullback is the one position in the NFL where the player is almost certain to have some form of CTE. And the 49ers release the guy without a statement concerning his health. It’s obvious the guy has issues much like Gary Plummer and Junior Seau. Linebackers and fullbacks colliding in the hole are a sure formula for CTE.

On the Kaep front, he’s getting more and more support. Kaep jersey sales are going through the roof and it’s a sign that there’s a lot of people out there who love Kaep for his protest. Obama supports him. Players on the Seahawks and Niners support him. A woman’s soccer team player supports him. More will follow. Kaep has made it easier for them, and that’s what a leader does. He took the hard road when so many others criticized. He may not be seen as a leader on the 49ers, but who’s on the Niners worth leading? The team’s a joke. Go Kaep! Bummed for Miller who’s clearly showing signs of CTE. What’s next for the NFL? Banning contact in the hole? The NFL severely regulates the secondary, but the minute it starts to regulate the amount of contact between FBs and LBs on run plays, the NFL is in serious trouble (more so than it already is).
