Another Trip to the Woodshed

Last Sunday, Atlanta laid such a relentless whipping on the Rams that it sent LA’s HC Jeff Fisher out the door and into the unemployment line.

Next Sunday, the Falcons will quite likely administer the same sort of beat down on the 49ers, although it’s unlikely to result in any pink slips at Niner HQ. No, that would require Jed York to do something functional and we all know that the trauma that awaits him at year’s end is about all this little boy can possibly cope with.

This game will complete the Niners trip through the NFC South for the year. A defeat would give them a clean 0-4 whiff and none of the games has been even remotely competitive. The team also took on ohfer against the AFC South, and lost to a representative of the NFC North and NFC East, proving they were no match for anybody in either conference. They also have the distinction/infamy of being the only team the Browns have beaten in over a year.

The mighty NFC West is mighty no more. Only Seattle has a winning record now, and they’re fresh off a drubbing in Green Bay. They don’t scare anyone these days.

It looks like Chip Kelly will play out the string with the bobblehead 0-8 QB, rather than take a look at Christian Ponder. That’s probably the surest way to a 1-15 record and one of the top two picks in the upcoming draft. Maybe that’s Kelly’s hidden agenda. Or maybe he doesn’t give a shit, like the rest of us, and is waiting to see if he’ll still be working here next year and, if so, who he’ll be working for.

It was about this time two years ago that York was busy crafting the one page document that he wanted Jim Harbaugh to sign that described his termination as a mutual parting of the ways. Wow. Nothing describes the clueless idiocy of York better than this piece of garbage. He actually thought this paper would carry some weight and absolve him from his evil actions. He even brought it up to refute those who dared to scoff at the mutuality, as though this was some sort of civil settlement that prevented each party from discussing the facts of the case. A business instinct, divorced from any sort of football related understanding.

Only three games left to marvel at this train wreck enterprise. Three more games until we get to drag this awful little weenie in front of the cameras to hear him address the sorry state of affairs of this once proud franchise. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! This might be the most enjoyable event of the year!

    repost because of new thread

This past season The Niner FO had opportunities to sign Zach Mettenberger, Kevin Hogan and Aaron Murray who were all put on waivers. Baalke did absolutely nothing and Mettenberger was scooped up by the Steelers and Hogan by the Browns and put on their 53 man rosters.
Aaron Murray was calimed by Philly and he was put on their practice Squad.
What do the Niners have to lose by signing Murray off the Egos PS and putting him on the 53 man roster as a developmental QB for next year.
Baalke foolishly cut Jeff Driskell and the Bungles thought enough of him to claim him and he has been on their 53 man roster all year.
Ponder should be getting a chance in these last games but lame duck Kap still starts even though he has no chance to come back next season due to his limited production and his huge contract.
This team will never get better until they have a decent QB.
That is the huge unknown for next year and the years to follow.
Seems like everyone knows this is one of the keys to future success, everyone but Chip Kelly and Trent Baalke who think Kap is the best option even though he stinks.
If they had kept Driskell he would be starting and getting valuable experience in these meaningless games and that is something to build on.
Just totally bad decisions and choices by coaches and FO.

The Chipster says the Niners haven’t been taken to the woodshed.

Not sure what his definition of “woodshed” is but 8 of the 12 losses (in a row) have been by double digits.

Around here we call that getting your ass kicked, Chipper.

  3. bullitNo Gravatar says:

“Chip Kelly said on Wednesday he didn’t mind his players were mellow, and not the passion-on-your-sleeve, yelling and screaming type of guys”

That’s the sad thing about this current Niner team, no passion and they shrug their shoulders when they lose and their culture is one of losing.

Full article where Steve Young who is one of the few ex Niners
that still refers to the team as “we”

  4. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    Dilfer is buddies with Baalke.
Dilfer says Baalke has drafted talent and the coaches have failed to develop the talent.

If that was true then guys like AJ Jenkins, Lamichael James, Brandon Thomas, Corey Lemonier and Joe Looney. Not included are busts like Carradine, Eli Harold and Marcus Martin who are still on the roster.

Point spread is now at 14 with one line at 14.5

Vote of confidence from bettors in Vega$

  6. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Patriots got Floyd, 31st on waiver list. Niners have no confidence in team chemistry. Potential Baalke firing is BS. With a talent like Floyd you jump on it.

No confidence is QB utilizing Floyd, just like Torrey. Floyd would bail on us, no matter the money. Then why did we overplay Kap. Gabbert played the tougher competition. Why did we not end the season with him.

  7. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Seahag chartreuse uniforms tonight are hideous.

They look like geckos out there. Just fugly.

  8. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Sherman gets away with a lot of holding and pass interference.

O leadership starts and ends with the QB. Was Kelly assured by FO that he got a free season, TB is on the hot seat. He is letting the tanking happen so he can work with better talent from the draft.

  9. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Russell Wilson did a post-snap read and saw the S give up deep coverage on Tyler Lockett. Hit a 57 yd pass over the CB who could not get back in time.

If only (Kap could do that).

  10. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Randy Cross echoed Steve Young this morning on 95.7 the Gamer.
He said the Niners had to make major changes as this losing streak is an embarrassment.

Need more ex Niners to speak up and publicly shame Baalke and Lil Jed for this debacle.

  11. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Will this finally be the front seven that gets Kap hurt. Games that allow little T-Rex’s to learn how to kill. Certainly.

  15. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Biderman also shared an interesting opinion and “off the wall prediction” (as he described it) about 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. “This is purely speculative,” said Biderman. “I’m not sourcing this or anything. I don’t have anyone telling me anything like this. I am not certain Colin Kaepernick is going to want to play football after this season. You look at the upcoming free agent class and what Colin Kaepernick is going to be worth on the open market…I don’t know that he’s going to want to play football anymore. He’s taking the GRE. He’s thinking about going back to grad school. So I think that’s something to keep in mind when we talk about the future of Colin Kaepernick.” One fan wrote that nobody wants Kaepernick and that he is too much of a distraction. “That is a key point because I am not sure there are many executives that disagree with you,” Biderman responded. “I think if you look throughout the league, there are going to be a lot of people that question whether or not it’s worth bringing in Kaepernick even if he’s just a backup.”

  16. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Also my observation on CHI game and cold, rainy weather.

Kap shined in GB game in 2012. Psyched and motivated then.

Gave up combating the weather conditions at Soldier Field on Dec 4. He has been contemplating moving on. Or is the plan to definitely hang it up.

NFL highly competitive. Does not want to be a low paid backup competing with rookies and journeyman. He can concentrate on being a BLM radical which no doubt impresses Nessa, the muslim. After football Kap may publicly go Muslim.

Will also get chummy with Democrat Party types like Obama.

  17. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

There are similarities with this year’s Falcons and the Peyton Manning Colts.

The Colts assumed Manning would have guaranteed points per game and the other team often would be playing catch up.

Colts D was resource limited since Peyton’s O had to be fed in draft and FA. Priority was pass rush, not run D.

The Falcons are not good on D yet. Their strength is the secondary and pass rush. Freeney has been a good mentor to Vic Beasley, along with diet and weight training. Their rookie ILB Deion Jones is fast and will help in limiting Kap’s run damage.

Joe Montana shares his thoughts on why college QBs are not prepared to play in the NFL, especially read option QBs

  19. Baby, It's Cold OutsideNo Gravatar says:

Joe could have saved him some time and effort and just said it’s because they’re black.

  20. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

We lost a very good DC in Fangio. Bears have been wracked with injuries this season and their D is still rated 7th.

  21. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Mart Ryan throws 7 TD passes to Julio and then takes a shit on the field, to signify what a pile of shit the San Francisco 49ers are. He then grabs the nearest American flag and pierces Colin Kaepernick’s unpatriotic ass right through the heart. Atlanta wins big and so does America.

  22. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Ponder replaces Gabbert as the backup for this game. About as pointless a move as could be imagined.

  23. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

JAX may get the win against HOU, giving us a one game buffer if we do beat the Rams.

  24. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Frank Gore, 26 carries 101 yards. Vikes D injured or overrated? Frank’s needs 70 yards to become oldest 1,000 yard rusher.

  25. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

This game is going to get ugly.

  26. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

14-0 quick. Middling ATL D is at their best now. Kap has to pass.

Edge rushers Vic Beasley and Dwight Freeney. Coverage MLB Deion Jones less worried about the run now. Best of their D is the secondary.

Should have enough speed to run down Kap. Maybe even a Helmut will connect with his knee. A parting gift from the NFL.

  27. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

150 yards / three TDs to 12 yards / 0 TDs. Somebody doesn’t give a shit. They tell me nobody’s quitting on Chip.

The mighty Niners reduced to the embarrassment of pro football in two Baalke/Jed years. Good for you boys.

…and there remains a question about whether to retain the GM and the HC. Seriously, is anybody that freakin’ stupid?

  28. bullitNo Gravatar says:

21-0 at end of first quarter.
Niners got their first, first down of the game at the end the quarter.

Kelly has no clue how to stop the raging runaway dumpster fire
    careening down Nob Hill.

  29. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

SF calls time out to see if anyone’s interested in continuing the game.

  30. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Three other games on now and all much better football. But I can’t look away from this circus without wondering what new way the Niners will find to look ridiculous.

  31. bullitNo Gravatar says:

First play of secon quarter. Patton has no where to go on a jet sweep and reverses his field.
Kap has a chance to throw him a block on a LB but hesitates and thinks better of it.

When they watch that on film they’ll see Kap is totally gutless. He is not the franchise anymore. He is still sliding 5 yards before he has to. He’s not seliing out and playing to win.

  32. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Like John McKay, I am in favor of our team’s execution.

  33. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Damn almost missed Calais Campbell running over 50 yards for a TD off a fumble recovery. He’s on the sideline with two bottles of O2.

Damn #2. Looks like we made ATL mad with that fluke TD. Now they’ll give us the business, Beav.

  34. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Half-assed tackles making it look way too easy.

  35. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Should be 35-13 at the half, but when your team has reeled off 12 straight losses, no sense being greedy. They’ve given us a great year to stuff in York’s face.

  36. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

    Gus Bradley canned.

  37. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

They’ve also apparently shut down the barnyard, which is no small feat.

  38. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“The 49ers have now given up 2,364 yards rushing — more than any team in franchise history. Previous mark was 2,363 in 1978.”

  39. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

With two games left there’s no telling what records for suck are still attainable for Jed’s trophy room.

“We were ranked 32nd but we deserved much worse.”

  40. Baby, It's Cold OutsideNo Gravatar says:

Hey. Don’t mourn for Zsa Zsa Gabor. At least she’s not around to watch this shit. Nothing “Dahling” about this team.

  41. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

It’s the second half, so “Kaepernick completed 1 of 7 passes for 8 yards in the third quarter.”

  42. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

I sure do get tired of the Niners announcers making the case for ‘all’s well’ when I’m watching the worst I think I’ve seen.

The barnyard insisted that ‘shit-7torm’s-comin’ in Kelly’s hurry-up fiasco would be the answer. I suppose they’re feeling a bit foolish looking at 0 fer 10.

  43. Baby, It's Cold OutsideNo Gravatar says:

Hey! Don’t go hatin’ on the “Bro with the Big ‘Fro.” I’m sure his troubles call all be attributed to bad play calling, poor line play, receivers not getting open, and when they do, dropping the ball. Sprinkle in some “the coaches are putting him in a position to fail,” and it all adds up to not being his fault.

You know, the same way as it wasn’t Alex Smith’s fault. 🙂

  44. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I want to hear the post game presser and Chip reiterating his team hasn’t been taken to the woodshed.

Pathetic 13 losses in a row and no clue how to turn this around. Chip has to go too.

  45. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Carlos Hyde just had 13 carries today.
Need to give him at least 25 carries as he’s approaching 1000 yards.

This team doesn’t have any goals.

  46. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Hodges was inactive today because he violated team rules.

With Bellore hurt they had one ILB and played safeties at the position and they got ripped and gashed.

  47. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

This team needs an enema. Everyone in the FO needs to be gone. Kelly, gone. About 90% of our starters, gone.

This is like gangrene. No band-aids now, you need to amputate.
