Seahawks 25, 49ers 23

After a brief foray into the land of the winning, a journey described hysterically by Blaine Gabbert‘s clueless backup as “huge” and “something to build on,” the 49ers reverted quickly back to the norm and tacked on a season ending loss to finish the year 2-14.

The Seahawks spotted the Niners a 14-3 lead, then ran off 22 unanswered points before yanking their starters in the fourth quarter and mercifully allowing their former rivals an opportunity to make the score seem closer than it really was. Charity from the Seahawks. Oh, how the mighty have fallen low.

And thus concludes the historically bad 2016 season of the San Francisco 49ers. May it live on in infamy. Unless next year’s team puts up an 0-16 season and establishes an even more infamous record of awfulness. They’re getting good at this Browns-like terribility, so anything is possible.

After the game, HC Chip Kelly and GM Trent Baalke were both fired. Their terminations were a bit anticlimactic since the Jed York leak machine had been spewing out the news a full 24 hours beforehand.

It was also leaked that it was Baalke who torpedoed signing Adam Gase to replace Jim Harbaugh. Whether that’s true or just another York attempt to divert attention from the asshole that fired Harbaugh in the first place, it does continue the Yorkian trend of trashing a guy on his way out the door. Even though Baalke had sucked up to the Yorks at least as much and for far longer than Jim Tomsula, who was a notorious butt-licker and locker room rat.

With these business-as-usual efforts from York, it’s not possible to have a lot of optimism that he will somehow stumble upon a decent new GM who will hire a decent new HC. We’ll get an early indication when the new duo deals with the current roster. If Colin Kaepernick is not immediately shown the door, along with the other locker room dirtbags who supported him, then the new guys will be just as clueless as the ones they are replacing.

At any rate, the York circus begins at 10:00 am this morning, with the annual Jed York eat crow and fake humility press conference. That at least will be enjoyable to watch. Even if it’s fake, watching this useless little boy grovel a bit is always a pleasure.

After that, while York and Paraag Marathe, two guys eminently unqualified for the task, begin to leak who they are interviewing and considering for the next GM and HC, we’ll all get to take a break and watch a month of playoff games featuring real teams with real organizations and coaches and all that happy decent football horseshit that we once knew here and may never again.

It’s good to see Chuckles squirming and evoking his usual BS that only Chuckles can talk about the past.

The usual bluster and lies that I was bringing up things that happened 5 years ago. The reference I made was actually to Chuckles undying love for Tomsula and saying parting ways with Harbaugh was the right move and the team wouldn’t miss a beat and be a playoff contender.

The other reference I made is supported by just looking to the right and seeing Chuckles predicted a10-6 record and a playoff team. Now he is walking it all back in typical Chuckles fashion.

You want waffles or need flip flops? Just follow Chuckles and wait a few months.

  2. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

If the 49ers are planning to let the new GM hire the new HC, then why are they currently scheduling interviews for HC candidates?

  3. bullitNo Gravatar says:

NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport is reporting that Niners have already requested permission to interview Josh McDaniels and also Nick Caeseio the Pats defacto GM, who is head of their personnel. If that package deal were to happen there is a good chance Niners also trade for Garrapolo. Maiocco reported something similar last night.

Wade Phillips contract is up in Denver. If they hire MsDaniels I would make Phillips an offer he can’t refuse to be the Niner DC. He one of the best DCs out there.

The above combination would be home run IMO.

  4. EarlNo Gravatar says:

Hard to believe that anyone who is good would also be dumb enough to take a job from Jed York.

  5. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Would the Niners hire a 30 year old to be their head coach?

The Rams have already scheduled an interview with Redskins OC Sean McVay.

He is an intriguing prospect reportedly having a very innovative
offensive mind. He is also on Jay Gruden’s staff and it is said he is close to being a Jon Gruden without being a Gruden.

His ties to the Niners? Sean McVay is the grandson of John McVay
the Niner GM who helped Bill Walsh build the Dynasty.

That hiring would energize the fan base and would certainly please his Grandpa, John McVay.

    Earl

Money is the big equalizer. Jed might have to pay a premium for someone to come aboard. One report that if Kap gets cut they’ll have $70 to $80 mil to build a team with in cap room.

My hope is Jed is leaning on Uncle Eddie and reaching out to John McVay and some ex Niners for advice.

Eddie had a rough beginning as the owner and finally got it right so I hope that Jed is listening.

  7. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    From Niners Nation

“The San Francisco 49ers are getting busy in a hurry as they begin the process of overhauling their football operations department. FOX Sports NFL reporter Peter Schrager reported the team will interview New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels this weekend. Matt Barrows tweeted the team will interview Kansas City Chiefs director of football operations Chris Ballard this weekend. Adam Schefter tweeted the 49ers will have requested an interview with Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.”

  8. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Also from Niners Nation: “There are 3 certainties in life. Death, taxes, and Jed York mentioning Bill Walsh while the 49ers are falling apart.”

  9. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Hey now, Joan ifrom accounting is still employed by the Niners.
    She is Jed’s rock.

  10. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I can’t stand Bill Parcells so I’ll just say no thank you to the notion of bringing him here to “consult”.

I haven’t forgotten the “Tuna” and when he was Public Enemy #1 in the Bay Area.

That is why I gave little credence to your support of Baalke cuz he was a “Parcells guy”.

    http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/04/hall-of-fame-clash-parcells-vs-walsh/?_r=0

  11. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Parcells never won anything without Belichick as his DC.

  12. bullitNo Gravatar says:

At least Jed is willing to make changes and face the music that he has blundered.

Better than the Bungles who still have Marvin Lewis as their HC to ensure mediocrity finishing 6-9-1. How does Lewis not get fired? Especially having never coached a winning playoff game at 0-7?

14 years under lewis running in place from the franchise who didn’t hire Bill Walsh as their head coach.

  13. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Coaches are speaking out and Baalke is being targeted.

It has been revealed that Chip was pushing for Dak Prescott and Baalke said no and drafted Rashard Robinson instead.

It is a well known fact that Baalke has a huge blindspot in QBs and WRs.

That in itself is a horrible shortcoming to have in this NFL.

  14. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Best part of York’s presser is seeing how much hair he’s lost in the past two years. Trying a forward comb-over, but it ain’t working.

  15. bullitNo Gravatar says:

In Jed’s press conference Tom Gamble was mentioned as a loyal employee but Jed dismissed the possibility of Gamble being the choice for GM.
Says he is going outside the org to fill the spots.

  16. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Some fun quotes from after the presser:

“Jed strikes me as a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.”

Jed York went from “Hold me accountable” to “I’m the owner, you can’t dismiss the owner.”

  17. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit Parcells was of course a hated opponent of ours as 9er fans for years.
However, he was also a guy here in my backyard that earned my respect for his no-nonsense approach to football.
He’s exactly the kind of guy Jed couldn’t handle either, as was Harbaugh.
My beef through all of this is borne out as we’re back to the feeble MBA Twins ‘leading’ yet another HC and cast replacement process.

Baalke is guilty of being a yes Man and he was the last scapegoat they had to sacrifice.
We’ll see how they fare as it goes along.
I simply want them to stay out of the football Ops, which I don’t think they know how to do because they feel the need to micro-manage everything.

I wouldn’t hire a plumber to wire my house anymore than I’d feel comfortable with these 2 nitwits having a clue between them on what constitutes ‘NFL acumen’.

  18. bullitNo Gravatar says:

In the presser Jed said he’s reached out to Uncle Eddie, John McVay and ex Niners, Joe, Steve, Ronnie Harris and Brent Jones.

Yes that Brent Jones who Chuckles dismisses having no connection with the team when he clearly does and has a weekly radio spot on KNBR. Chuckles said Brent Jones knew nothing about the team which must be news to Jed and those at KNBR.

Chuckles seems to dismiss anyone with an opinion contrary to his. But if you wait a few weeks he’ll flip over to your point of view and own it as his.

  19. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

Hey Skeebers, nice post-mortem on the losers known as the Niners and their management-by-leaks ownership known as the Yorks.

York is a mealy-mouthed moron who hasn’t figured out anything except not to say “you can hold me accountable” again.

He apparently thinks he and his magic numbers buddy Paraag are going to find and hire a GM and a HC with no egos who will fight for each other instead of with each other over disagreements.

He says the structure is a GM and a HC as if they are equals. All that does is create conflict.

The guy’s an idiot of the worst kind. The kind who thinks most fans will buy anything, again and again. But then, he’s probably right about that.

Who else thinks former players are the ones holding all the secrets to turning around a losing team? Something Parcells had great success doing, by the way.

  20. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Jed York: “Ultimately, the decision will rest with me.”
Jed York, 10 minutes later: “I don’t make football decisions.”

  21. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Jed is a walking/talking oxymoron Skeebs.
I’m thoroughly disgusted with the track record the York’s have demonstrated since taking control.
I’m thinking Jed is such a petulant little turd that Mommy and Daddy just gave him a title to get him out of their hair.
Non-football guys attempting to walk the walk and, talk the talk while having absolutely no clue what they’re attempting to accomplish.

    Absolutely sick of these idiots.

  22. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

First rejection is in: “Chris Ballard is going to stay in KC, will not interview for 49ers GM job.”

  23. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Shocker!
Any qualified ‘football guy’ in his right mind knows what’s at stake.
    The risk of one-and-done.
They can only hope that someone is so completely bored, that sharing a building with Jed and Paraag looks attractive.
    Makes me want to vomit.

  24. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

They couldn’t handle Harbaugh’s in-your-face style of football, which suggests they couldn’t share, or yield, to a guy like Coughlin either.
They’re looking for a scapegoat with a ‘name’ in the game.
    All about appearances with Jed.
‘Winning culture’ starts with winning football guys that aren’t micro-managed by ‘business practices’.

  25. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Winning with Harbaugh wasn’t good enough.
Just like Jerruh couldn’t share a stage with Jimmy Johnson, we’re destined for the same sort of results.
Winning is a pipe dream with Jed and Paraag running the show.

  26. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

I had something to say on the subject but it gets bounced as a duplicate. I think I dropped the connection somewhere in the process. Nothing to it anyway, just another what-a-moron rant.

Have at it gents. It’s even funnier when you don’t give a shit what they do.

  27. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

One of many delusional thoughts from our Feckless Leader –

He said the 49ers will spend the money and do everything in his arsenal to have the team win. He said the Super Bowl might be realistic next year. “We have a vision that’s going to last for a long period of time,” York said.

Pretty hard to imagine that ‘vision’ from a guy seeing the 49er World with his head up his A$$.

  28. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Fun to vent rag on this squirt.
So I have to ask, are you now just known around these parts as ‘NoFear’?

    Dismissing the ’49er’?

  29. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Sorry about that, NF. I fished it out of the spam trap. Not sure why it went there.

  30. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

The transcript is full of contradictions from the hole (pie or ass). It has the feel of a used car salesman just knocking down objections. Anyone taking this cardboard cutout of a person seriously needs help with basic life skills.

People around him kiss his ass because he’s rich, not smart, or knows the first thing about running a football team. Do you really think most potential GMs and HCs who need a job are any different?

  31. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    WANTED – NFL GM/HC
Must be willing to accept failures of Ownership/Mgt – Apply within.

  32. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

York did suggest he’s spoken to Joe Montana, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, Harris Barton and Brent Jones along the way.

I spoke to Derrick Deese & Keena Turner at the HOF when Jerry went in.
    I guess I’m qualified Jed.
    How much are you offering?

  33. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

Yeah, that was it Skeebers. Funny, but I remember it sounding better.

NJ49er, I had to excise the team from my screen name. Once the players and coaches voted to give the BLM terrorist supporter a previously highly regarded team award I reached the limit of my excuses and tolerance for radical left-wing political crap over football for it and I divorced them bitches.

The NFL may not be far behind, but as of now if the team left the USA with the rest of the secession nuts I couldn’t care less.

  34. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

NJ49er, knowing what a winning team feels like is vastly different than knowing how to get there when all is lost.

  35. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Can’t say I blame you for dropping the ’49er’ No Fear.
I’ve got too much ink and too many years of devotion to Eddie’s 9ers to bail now.
I’d much rather find ways to make Jed’s life miserable.
I seriously have come to the point of hatred for this clown.

    He’s absolutely clueless.

  36. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I’m also pissed that the NYG game next year is in SF.
I would have planned on a protest of monumental proportions here at the Meadowlands had it been our travel game.

  37. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

I got Maiocco and Barrows to attend my first one.
I would be enlisting NY/NJ media this time if given the chance.
    Jed York must be removed!

  38. WinderNo Gravatar says:

Jed is a joke. It’s obvious he hasn’t found anyone to help him put the team back together or with his public speaking. I wonder what he’s been doing all this time. It’s amazing how someone with so much going for him can be such a F-ing dipwad. All I got from his talk was more angry. Baseball can’t come soon enough.

  39. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

I said it before: You can change the GM, HC and QB but nothing will change until the owner is gone.

  40. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

The York’s have succeeded at taking the Championship Banner for most Feckless Owners in the NFL.
DC/Cleveland, maybe Chicago must be honored.

–York said, “I own this football team, and you don’t dismiss owners.”

    NJ49er said, I’m a vested 49er Fan – Jed, DISMISS THYSELF!

  41. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Clipped a deer and eff’d my car the other night.
All I can think about now is, why couldn’t Jed and Paraag run across the road in front of me at 1AM?
    I sure wouldn’t fuk’n MISS.

  42. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Be well worth the deductible no matter how I’d slice it.

  43. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Christ, I’d even go into the woods if needed, to make sure the job was done.

  44. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

So NJ, purposely trying to maim harmless deer. Govt’s version of church ladies may be noticing you.

And I had great laughs over on the barnyard blog. First bullit sticking pins into Chuck’s voodoo doll is obviously working. Does Chuck also go after harmless deer.

Then those 2 punks need a beating comment. Too many bad influences from niners in the news rubbing off on you.

Am going to check out amazon for a drone delivered package of anger management classes administered to you pronto.

  45. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

God, I reread your 3 posts above mine. I’m gonna be watching you.

    https://youtu.be/9Hn9xAaKUbw

  46. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Maybe we can practice our 1st Lynch mob moves on Jed. Yunno, some practice before we step into the big time with KKK sheets. Spit would approve of this message.

  47. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Sniper rifle OK. But you wouldn’t feed Jed into a wood chipper. Or would you.

  48. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bakkentom I’m beyond the point of trying to explain how Jed even has this job.
This whole York Ownership Era has been one big clusterfuk.
Seeing some of his quotes, about needing HC/GM to work together, etc, is 3rd Grade common sense to any of us.
To think he and Paraag constitute the top of the food chain within 4949 is just about all I need to make my blood boil.

But, not to worry, if I were to make a retaliatory move it wouldn’t involve violence.
I vent to lower the internal pressure, with a tinge of psychotic humor involved.
But? An accidental slip into a wood chipper? Sure would be unfortunate huh? 😀

  49. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Also just a suggestion. Throw a burlap sack over him before the beatings. Just in case there is still a residue of memory of your face in his brain after he comes out of coma.

  50. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Now, hiring a kamikaze pilot to tote a Jed banner over Levis Stadium would be original no?
    Ahh, really?
Plane ran out of fuel and had to crash land on the Owners Suite to spare those few hundred fans in attendance?
    How considerate.

  51. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Those expensive corporate boxes around him would be empty now. They can’t give them away. Like a booger that won’t leave the finger.

  52. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Nah, tailgate piñata party Levis.
    Jed is the piñata.
All guests in attendance wielding an Easton Mako Beast composite bat maybe?
Think that would go over very well?
And, just to make sure no innocent bystanders are placed in harms way, only the piñata wears a blindfold.
Midget bowling with Jed might be entertaining too?
Cinder blocks instead of pins perhaps?

  53. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Forget the old style Japanese suicidal warriors. Two pools of ready kamikaze pilots would be terrorists or irate snowflake Hollywood liberals. For either just tell them Trump is in Jed’s box.

  54. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Tie 30-40lbs of fresh sirloin onto our beloved leader, then, send him through the lion park at a good sized safari/zoo?
    Run Jed, RUN!

  55. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Ah, the educated idiots. But can they screw in a lightbulb. Bachelors in finance and MBA only teaches them hedge fund operation and tax avoidance.

  56. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Animal cruelty. Feeding Lions with a Jed chaser.

Watch yourself. The environmentalists are about to be cut off cold turkey with Trump. You may do in the meantime as a target until they wean themselves off of Trump hate.

  57. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

All good thoughts and ideas Bakkentom.
We could be onto something here?
Jed appreciation parties could catch on?
    Inauguration Day in DC.
Jed dressed as an illegal immigrant perhaps?

  58. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Launch him on a catapult into the Mexican embassy. Too late for me but a Transgender bathroom reference may work here, somehow.

  59. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Urinal deodorizers with Jed’s face on them?
    Cha-fukn-Ching!

  60. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Catapult a few dozen piranha into Jed’s pool?
Now that’s a good time waiting to happen.

  61. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Investigators would suspect the disgruntled neighbors having issues with his cabana too.

  62. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Love that urinal deodorizer. Big seller in the Bay area, get to it before the Chinese steal your idea.

Like those NRA targets with Hillary in the bullseye.

  63. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Don’t be timid. Prosecutors allowed to be discretionary on how laws are administered. Jed hate among lawyers has to be high too.

  64. bullitNo Gravatar says:

As usual when Chuckles has no rebuttal he goes back to the accusation that I’m bakkentom.
To call Chuckles a moron would be in insult to the intelligence level of the moron community.

Another ignorant ingrate calling me a racist because his hero Kap never lived up to expectations.

Chuckles needs to learn that when a player is totally inept it’s not about race but that would pop his bromance with Kap and intrude on his fanboy love. It would mean Chuckles would have to redecorate his room.

  65. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Lol you guys are cracking me up today. Good stuff…

  66. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Just to clarify bullit, do you know how to push Chuck’s button psychologically or did you go to Jamaica and learn voodoo doll technique from voodoo high priestess’s.

So we are the only GM opening so far but HC’s would have better rosters to work with among these.

    NFL Vacancies
    Buffalo Bills
    Los Angeles Rams
    Jacksonville Jaguars
    San Diego Chargers
    San Francisco 49ers
    Denver Broncos

HC’s always concerned with job survival. Teams that underperformed with good rosters are JAX O & D, TENN O, and LA D.

Rams, Jaguars, and Broncos will take the top 3 prospects.

Bigger money and salary cap may help. Jed’s charm? SF call girls?

  67. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

    This may explain JAX descent.

    http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2017/1/2/14147086/blake-bortles-played-2016-season-with-shoulder-separation-wrist-tendonitis

They really upgraded their D talent in 2016 draft and FA. We will get the crumbs.

  68. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Tom Tolbert discussing York’s hairdo: “Just saw the York presser and…..What’s up with the Do? Looks like a fairway on a bad public muni.”

  69. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

Priceless: Lowel Cohn (sp?) blasting York in a press conference asking him why Jed shouldn’t be fired. Jed’s answer, “You don’t fire an owner.” Moron. Yes you do. You boycott him. Jed…. “You’re fired.” I fired you.

And another thing: If you’re that rich and you still can’t figure-out how to either cut your hair, get extensions, hair plugs, a rug, whatever – anything to make you look…. not that – you aren’t going to be able to take care of a football team. That piss ant is a laughing stock.

“If you can’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of others.” Sir Richard Branson

  70. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Lets see who the Niners end up hiring. Very easy to bash Jed these days and would like to see him pull a rabbit out of his hat.

The most intriguing hire for GM would be Louis Riddick.
Pair him with Josh McDaniel and that might a powerful combination.

  71. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Now Chip Kelly is stating he is willing to go back to the college ranks if anything opens up.

He has no future in the NFL because he can’t or is not willing to make adjustments. The NFL DCs have figured his offense out and Chip is a one trick pony.

He was a big name hire last year but flawed as no other team even had him in for an interview.

Wasn’t impressed when they hired him and the results were very disappointing to say the least. Nothing innovative and the offense only improved in the Oline.

When the ship was sinking Chip did nothing to tweak it but run less plays.

Another year would have worse results.

  72. NoFearNo Gravatar says:

Today I see Chip is disputing Jay Glazer’s report of Baalke’s attempt to bury him and good ol’ Jay is admitting his source wasn’t exactly Chip himself as he made it out to be.

Warning: Everything you read from so-called “insiders” is horseshit. Unless or until it’s proven otherwise by reliable and unbiased sources.

Vance Joseph on the radar for HC? (another Nolan guy to upset the barnyard) With or without approval from the new GM?

The only way Jed gets his new GM and HC to fight for each other is if they’re both the same guy. He said he wants two guys. And he said he doesn’t care which is hired before the other. And he said he will be the guy with the final say. IOW, the suck will continue without end.

  73. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Yep. He just does not get it. Should have hired the GM and backed away. He wants them to be a kind of partnership, but essentially they will both owe Jed and Paraag their jobs. Sets things up perfectly for another round of rats and backstabbing. Some mother f*ckers are just too stupid to learn from their mistakes.

  74. WinderNo Gravatar says:

UnF-ingbelievable. I hope the media reams him for his ego because that is what it is. He’s playing for the glory but he’ll never get it. What we will get is a GM with no real power, a GM that is being set up to fail. Jed has to back-off but it’s obvious that he won’t.

  75. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

    Can’t fix stupid. Or dumb.

    With Jed we have both…forever.

Get ready for another shit season

  76. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Winder that’s the 3-legged stool I’ve railed on from the start.
Baalke had no one in-house, on the football Ops side, but Tweedledee and Tweedledumb-A$$ at his side.
Both of them meddling and directing strategy while he wore the ‘Official’ title of ‘GM’.
Backstabbing has become a game of survival apparently and, as we’re reminded, ‘You don’t dismiss the Owner’.
This infamous quote from the Dumb-A$$ that doesn’t OWN anything, but for the media/fan backlash, he SO richly deserves.

The next scapegoat search marches on….

  77. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Gase wanted to be here as HC, now it was Baalke who gave him the offer he could refuse. What is the real truth.

It saddens me but reality says we strike out again . Let’s go with a young guy, stick with him and let him make mistakes. Needs to be O minded.

Shanahan going to DEN it seems. JAX and LA more attractive to McDaniels. What can we do to get him here. At DEN he blew it with Tebow. But Demarius Thomas was the other 1st Rd pick.

  78. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Varying amounts of contradiction on the Gase fiasco Bakkentom.
Baalke went after him hard yet changed direction abruptly?
I’d read that Jed/Paraag felt he was too young and, didn’t want to allow Gase to retain Fangio as they wanted all of Harbaugh’s guys out of the picture.
Make of it what you will but, it seems to me, the ‘GM’ wanted him until the Minions objected.

Water over the dam now. Jed/Paraag be damned. They alone own this mess now.

For now this seems like the best combination hiring to me.

Louis Riddick as the GM and Josh McDaniels as HC.

Keep this year’s first round pick and trade a fourth round pick this year and next year’s first round pick and 4th round pick for Jimmy Garrapolo. Garrapolo is better than any QB in the first 3 rounds of this draft and is ready to start. Jimmy should excel with McDaniels as his HC.

Right now it’s important that the right guys are hired. Criticize and whine about it after the positions are filled.
Let’s see what happens and if they get it right.

Read this article and you might be impressed with what Riddick brings as a communicator and the right approach.
