School’s Out

The 49ers have concluded their Spring practices and we now have six weeks until Training Camp opens. The do-nothing 2016 offseason trickles toward its inept conclusion.

Chip Kelly said that Antoine Bethea looked like the best player in the secondary. Not good news. Bethea is old, slow, and fading, so it seems that either none of the newer, younger guys understand the new defensive schemes or they just aren’t very good. Which would be a surprise if it wasn’t and it ain’t.

The offense appears committed to pounding the ball with Carlos Hyde. Hyde also will be catching a lot of passes out of the backfield. Hyde is our best offensive player, so the idea of using him extensively seems good. Except in his two years here he has not been able to stay healthy. The guys behind Hyde are led by Shaun Draughn, a marginal talent, and Mike Davis, who gained 58 yards on 35 carries last year.

Anybody expecting the passing game to be dynamic has obviously been drinking too many beers with ROB. Heck, even Rob’s been drinking too many beers with ROB.

Still, it’s going to be a fun year in Niner land. Funner than last year, when there was still too much outrage mixed in with the joy of seeing the team stink up the place week after week, validating all of this site’s scorn directed at Jed York for senselessly destroying the franchise. This year, every fan has digested what a complete fool we have for an owner. It won’t be a surprise to anyone that the team finishes in the NFC West basement yet again.

Last year it was guaranteed 100% that we would completely suck. And yep we validated the collective wisdom over here by the Niners play on the field. That was no surprise unless you were reading Chuck’s blog or smoking tons of hope. Which we weren’t.

This year who knows? We could surprise to the upside a little or maybe even go 8-8 if the stars align. Can’t count on it tho and it wouldn’t be surprising to see us go 4-12. But at least there is a faint possibility of improvement. Whoop de doo

  2. RTFireflyNo Gravatar says:

At least we have no talent. Imagine being a Rams fan, having a world of talent, and finishing 7-9 again under Jeff Fisher.

  3. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Rams are thinking of giving Fisher an extension. Why, I have no idea.

Thanks mmqb for helping us on a night and day contrast. Democrap crony capitalist Jughead Jed has ruined our franchise. Douchebag needs to stick to buying off Hillary and democraps in the Cali one party state.

Took the Yorks about the same time to ruin Walsh’s legacy as the Democraps ruined the golden state.

  5. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

We’re stuck with York but we have a few choices in who our rulers are. Cali has made their choices, oh well. These ‘games’ are rigged as we are certainly seeing in the NBA finals. Humans, born to cheat…

If Bethea is our best safety can our D be any good? Fangio, what a loss.

  6. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Do we consider BG as a bridge QB to protect?

Ravens’ LT Eugene Monroe may be released soon. As a backup for Staley until our young depth gets experience. Roll the dice developing our two 5th rounders or Monroe in 2016.

  7. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Here’s Phils informal (and sketchy) take on where our various units will stack up this year compared to last =

Coaching = better, both on O and on D. Lots of room for improvement over the rummage sale crew of ’15. This is easy, we stunk, now we will be better. Chip at least has a plan, a detailed plan. Unlike myself. Can our current players run his O effectively? Stay tuned.

OL = Will improve significantly with Garnett, return of our C. RT (not Firefly, Right Tackle dummy) remains questionable.

RB = Better due to a healthy Hyde, Chips scheme, better OL. Will they make us forget Gore, Roman? Naww…

WR = Better due to scheme, improved coaching. Personnel TBD.

TE = Unless Miller breaks out I don’t see our slow TEs doing much different than last year, which was not much. Maybe scheme which uses a lot of TEs will help matters

DL = Big improvement with Buckner coming on late pairing with Armstead, new coach Azz, return of Dorsey

OLB = Carradine finds his groove sacks 6, Eli Harrold adds 5. We’re going to be better here people trust me. The twin Ducks on the line are going to open up opportunities for our men.

IBL = About the same but Navorro covers better. Scheme, dropping Tartt down on running plays for support will improve run stopping.

S = Same. Hopefully old man Bethea has one more good year injury free.

CB = Improved with Ward starting next to Brock and a flock of youngsters in the woodpile. (I don’t care what Mayo sez, Balkey’s got a thing).

FO = Bonus sketch = The Knife is lurking in Sactown, an improvement. Fresno would be better but…baby steps. Kelly takes no shit from anyone as to who is on the 53, who gets extended or cut and he gets to choose half the draft picks. Cable (?) from Philly keeps Balkey from pissing off the new HC and vice versa. Peace reigns in the kingdom

Conclusion = With all these improvements we win more games right? No, we go 4-12 due to much tougher schedule and a few close losses. Or as RT sez, we have no talent. Yeah but our crap is IMPROVED crap, see what I mean?

  8. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

I will throw some sheet out there and please fire away.

Release Kap and bring in Foles. Cannot justify exposing Kap to injury. Little upside in Chip’s system.

Tank has slow reaction time. Could not identify blocking patterns so cannot one gap. Moved back out to OLB/nickel DE. Hope it goes well, tired of spending draft picks on LB.

Vance McDonald has reports that his dropsies are corrected. Need to play him a lot this season, as well as Tank. If not starters, then trade them away.

    Wassup with AD?

No more 1st to 3rd round picks on D until the O becomes top 10.

Peyton Manning to our FO. Fire TB.

  9. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

For the record I think Kap improves enough to win the starting QB job over Gabby. This will only be confirmed when I see him smiling and acting human in two more press conferences AND consistently hitting the WRs on crossing patterns and swing passes.

  10. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Good suggestions Tom but many are too rational for the Niners so they won’t happen.

AD is a joker and will never play in the NFL again, sorry. Believe he got into a tangle with Balkey and their relations are too troubled to fix at this point. Plus his motivation to actually get in shape and suffer the rigors of playing professional football is lacking. Chip will never put up with an ambivalent teammate like AD. He’s done.

  11. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Kap is way overpaid for his skill set. Absolutely. Why pay big money on a QB with Chip scheme, playcalling, and tutelage.

Everyone is evolving on O, including Chip and OC. A dummy at QB hinders the process, experimenting and in game adjustments. DC’s have enough on Chip that he better be dynamic.

REMEMBER the playcalling and routes had to be simplified for dummy. Smart DC’s and DB’s knew what to expect. Mathieu of Cardinals jumped routes with impunity.

KICK Kap is Coach Killer. But then why should I care. We need high draft pick franchise stars. 0-16 is the best way, unless you draft like the Browns.

  12. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Dummy had access to the Stanford headsets to refine picking up blitzes, reading D pre-snap, seeing the full field, etc. All the practice time and film means jack when cramming all that info into a deficient cranium.

QB is the one position that requires intelligence.

  13. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

GB, CHI, TENN, and BALT among others had as their first 3 picks OL, DT, OLB/DE. As NJ says, protect the QB and sack the QB.

  14. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Barrows: If the 49ers struggle, Trent Baalke could be gone

    http://www.49erswebzone.com/news/94876-barrows-49ers-struggle-trent-baalke-could-gone/

Speculation beginning about Balkey’s job security. Interesting that a front line beat writer who is presumably in good graces of 49ers is raising this issue at the beginning of Chip’s tenure. Guess who is NOT going to take the fall for our depleted roster?

  15. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Phil, IF THE 49ERS STRUGGLE!!!!!!!! He is out at end of season. Amen.

  16. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

“GB, CHI, TENN, and BALT among others had as their first 3 picks OL, DT, OLB/DE. As NJ says, protect the QB and sack the QB.”

Based on last draft I’m guessing HC and GM are splitting the picks with Chip getting first two, Balkey next several and then Chip the last few. So Buckner and Garnett are figured to be Chip’s with the ACL project Redmond Balkey’s. Lines are being drawn about WHO is responsible for the quality- or lack- of our players.

  17. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Lol Tom, Balkey has had plenty of time to build the roster and it’s sink or swim this year looks like. So Manning for GM huh?

  18. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Chip will become our O GM, as far as player selection. Even TB agrees to some kind of demotion but stays?

None of this is rocket science. Scout, draft, and develop football players by football people. Fix the damn O. Copy what JAX and TENN are doing.

  19. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Offense passing games are either horizontal or vertical.

Vertical needs a good oline for pass pro and a QB like Luck, Rodgers, Palmer,…

Easier approach is horizontal. D is spaced out and little blitzing. Smart QB making quick reads, quick release and accurate for timing passes. Need to quickly process through progressions and hit when windows are open. Kap fails on all of this.

WR need to get separation with route running and/or size. Need the threat of a good running game to use play action to freeze the LB’s and S’s. Use playcalling and scheme to keep D from loading the box.

  20. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

2 years ago Kap was unquestioned QB. Acted like a capable franchise QB with crappy Dallas D giving widest separation of season between D and receiver. Kap even went through some progressions.

He was worse after that game. Receivers more tightly covered, need to look off safeties and throw open receivers. Need to know when 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc receivers are open. Throw open against man coverage and hit the gaps in zone coverage. DC’s mix it up and disguise. A dummy does not stand a chance.

  21. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Luv to have Manning as GM. Am wrong on everything because York’s are football stupid or tight with money.

No Mo. No Manning. No money to get best coaches and players in offseason. No prowess in scouting and identifying football talent for the coaching scheme.

Did Nofear drink himself to death. Grumpy on the way? Is the fan base dying from alcohol poisoning. Do the York’s have sizable investment in alcohol producers.

  22. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Yep the ownership dilemma can only be solved by them STAYING OUT of football operations, reevaluating the FO people they have uncritically supported to team detriment. I suspect if the Niners were actually winning as in the days of yore that Grumpy, NF and others would be around. Winning cures so many problems but we are far from that these days.

  23. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

That’s been my soapbox for ages Phil.
Sticking the Whiz Kid alongside Tweeter simply sabotaged the relationship between Harbaugh and Baalke IMO.

If HC/GM can’t work together, nothing constructive occurs.
Now, the entire roster has to be overhauled, due to significant differences in the style of the Offenses between Harbaugh and Chip.

As suggested, Baalke takes the hit, now that the Whiz Kid has been ‘reassigned’.
Fall Guys Inc in the York Power Structure apparently.
Non-football guys polluting the process and effing up everything they touch.

  24. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Yep NJ, no sooner had Steve Berman over at BASG put the finger on Marathe as The Rat, the chief leaker, AKA The Knife, than he was ‘reassigned’ to Sactown . Very convenient huh? Good riddance. But the troubling issue is WHO (we all know who) put this duplicitous bean counter in an expanding role dealing with football operations? Resulting in a very dysfunctional org and subsequent team meltdown. I reached my admittedly low capacity for forbearance in matters FO when it was disclosed that Paarage Marathe was the blunt instrument used by York to demand, not ask, Kap to take a substantial PAY CUT while injured. This on top of Marathe’s central role in disposing of the winning coach. Thus “The Knife”.

So now with the tattered ruins of the SB bound Niners before us I ask = “Learn much?” and “Can we have FOOTBALL men running the football side of the York Empire?” Because the consequences of non-football doofuses being in control are very costly, right? To York’s almighty bottom line and to our sanity. Not to mention to the Niners W-L record.

Where this leaves Balkey will, I guess, be determined by said W-L record. I hope there are enough interchangeable parts (players) that we are not too far from being competitive with what we already have. But our youth is something that only time can fix. 2016 will be a year where much is clarified and revealed. And not just in football

  25. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

In football the low man wins. Both Armstead and Buckner are the same body type. Can they excel in run D.

I mentioned earlier about an Armstead for Mo trade. Kap is the only big contract on the team. After this year it will be gone. We need Mo.

  26. NJ49ERNo Gravatar says:

Phil it was Baalke that recruited Harbaugh.
One would assume they had enough of a rapport to talk/work on common football ground?

Add Tweeter and Dr Daddy’s minion to the mix and, of course, the rest is nothing but a bad dream.

As has been my wish for a long time, get the 3 Stooges away from the roster, the locker room, and anything related to X’s and O’s.

  27. NJ49ERNo Gravatar says:

Pretty safe to assume Harbaugh relished the chance to antagonize their ineptitude, until it just went nuclear.

  28. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Eugene Monroe has been released. Chip’s playcalling can protect BG as rookies or Trent Brown go up the learning curve.

  29. RTFireflyNo Gravatar says:

The Brownies had three wins last year. This was one of them. Note the Niners whopping 221 total yards and 22:00 TOP against one of the league’s (edited) defenses.

Note how the 24-10 score is not really indicative of this hard fought game. The Niners made it close with 94 of their yards and their TD with still 1 min left in the game.

Note how Gabbert takes advantage of the improved O-line, revamped AFTER Kappy was benched, in these highlights (or not).

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=D7_OL72cG5A

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GABBERT!!!!!!!!!!! Tear ’em up!

  30. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Thanks RT for the selective memory. Just clicked on archive here Dec 2015 and very easy to find the true story.

Tomsula and his crew had a thing about away games. At Cleveland we lost TOP by 15 minutes. 480 or something yards versus our 221. Their then oline of Joe Thomas LT all pro, Alex Mack C all pro, and Mitchell Schwartz RT dominated our dline.

After the Bear victory the coaching staff too busy celebrating and bonding with the players. Staley, Boldin, and others embarrassed by the player and coaching letdown.

  31. RTFireflyNo Gravatar says:

Their O-line explains our 127 yards total offense and our 3 points for 59:00 against a 2-10 team???

OK, thanks for explaining that to me.

  32. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

I have little faith in Chip turning Gabbert’s whole career around as compared to restoring Kap’s confidence. Kap looks like a new man or at least he looks like the old version we saw at UNR and early Niners. We shall see.

Read an opinion that weak coach Tomsula was ‘forced’ by Balkey who ‘insisted’ keeping Devey playing at RT last year. If true my wish is that Kelly is not afraid to tell Balkey to shove it = “I’ll play who I want, not you”. Not sure how true this is but if so then it would go a long ways to explaining how inept the O was last year.

RT, please get questions answered from this archive. Then coach Mike Pettine said Browns came out to fight after getting blown out the previous week. He could not say the same for the niners.

BG suffered 9 sacks. NN later in week should have an article with gifs on all the sacks. Tomsula just too easy on players and team not prepared it seems.

Limited offense with limited weapons. Pettine fighting for his job and out prepared and delivered a butt kicking out coaching staff richly deserved. So we appeared overconfident and should have prepared against a hurt dog.

  35. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

There is a new Dline coach. What is really scary is the amount of rushing yards in certain games last year against Dial, Williams, and Dorsey/Armstead/Jerod-Eddie.

Will Dial, Williams/Purcell/Lake, and Armstead this year be any better on base downs. Buckner is a rookie and seems to play in the nickel line first.

Are the tall and 290ish Buckner and Armstead really suited to be all down players. To me it seems only one like Buckner paired with Mo or reluctantly Dial might work on 1st and 2nd down.

Our personnel on dline will be good against pass in 2017. Not on run downs. That is why I proposed Armstead for Mo.

  36. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

    Phil,

The best of Chip Kelly has been incorporated into Brady and Manning playcalling. DC’s know what he has.

He needs to experiment and evolve to get this O back on track. Doing his same old will not cut it, especially with our talent level. He needs a smart QB to help in his survival.

Kap is absolutely not it. That contract blocked any trade. His performance last two years has sealed his fate. No one wants him. Rookies offer the equivalent.

  37. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Kap is DOA. The talent from the draft the last 3 years was predominantly D. From the first 3 rounds of each draft, on O it was Carlos Hyde, Marcus Martin, Brandon Thomas, and Vance MacDonald.

To succeed, Kap needs a solid oline for a top 5 rushing attack and enough pass pro to not revert to his protect long skinny legs from a pass rush that wants to kill him.

Staley is starting his descend path, no RT of note until youth brought up to speed, OG in Flux unless light bulb turns on for Martin and Thomas and Garnett gets through his rookie year. Beadles may be able to dust off his ZBS skills for awhile. Kilgore adequate but nothing special.

  38. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

I view Gabbert as an unfortunate victim thrown in to a bad situation. We have an early beat up version of Blake Bortles.

BG needs to learn and help his low talent teammates pick up the new playbook and schemes. Help will occur next offseason in draft and maybe FA.

He is the future. FO gave up on O for this season and Chip will have free rein. TB may be out before year is out. We lucked out and picked up JAX’s mistake for a 6th RD pick.

  39. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Another reason Jarred Hayne quit was because of Chip’s playbook.
“I just think with Chip’s playbook, it’s such an intense playbook that it would just take too much time,” Hayne told Fairfax Media.”

Last season Chryst stated he dummied down the offensive playbook to help Kap.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/san-francisco-49ers/post/_/id/15123/49ers-strip-back-playbook-for-colin-kaepernick

The big question is will Kap change his ways and spend more time studying the playbook?

Last year Gabbert spent five times more time than Kap. The mental part of the game as well as mechanics needs improvement.

  40. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

It is not just handling the standard playbook. Adjustments made by OC and QB can be done on the fly if a receiver or up in the booth sees DB’s doing the unexpected that can be set up and exploited.

A dummy struggling with the standard stuff cannot be counted on to do in game changes.

  41. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Looks like Eugene Monroe will not go RT. Seattle to replace Okung?

Can’t wait for training camp and the pads come on. Rashard Robinson and run defense. Is he really 185 lbs.

  42. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Can the Warriors win one more game, fortunately at home? Would be nice to finish on top despite the manipulations of the NBA to apparently favor CLE. They are hurting, tired and banged up after 100+ games, now fighting the refs with ticky tacky fouls on the league MVP. Easy to assume the league wants this to go 7. Well looky here, they got what they wanted. NOW will there be a level court and may the best team win? Apart from bogus calls on Curry (3) Barnes has let this team down with his poor shooting; Green with undisciplined play; Bogut’s imjury exposes lack of dominant center. Must not start slow again!

Win or lose the Dubs have given us a heck of a ride much like the Jimi teams in Ninersville. Go Dubs, one more!

  43. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Did the NFL DCs figure out how to stop Chip’s O or did Chip the GM strip the Philly team of talent esp. on O? Or both? Hopefully there is a better balance here between HC and GM than what we saw with the Jimi regime and the FO. And hopefully there is a better balance for Chip Kelly who is now able to focus on what he really wants = solely being a HC and no GM duties. For the ideal configuration to materialize here it will require York understanding difference between football operations and the strictly business side ops. Giving up his embrace of Marathe as the guru who knew it all, even if he knew jack shit about FOOTBALL TEAMS. Fatal miscalculation giving the Knife too much authority over GM, players and HC. We see the result. Is this now understood?

Similarly the GM/HC duties need to be clearly spelled out and followed or trouble will result. Chip I am hoping of all people gets this, will insist on this and make it so as far as he is able = absolute authority in coaching, on field activities, who plays, who is on the 53, the PS and who gets extended or cut. Balkey like Marathe has tended to overstep his duties due to poor, weak coaches. Yorks since firing Mariucci have distorted the Niner FO structure along with unwarranted ownership meddling in football operations. This blows up when a non-compliant HC comes along and demands authority in football/on field areas. Think Hendrix. Contrast with house monkey Tomsula when the logical bottom of “owner knows best” results in 5-11.

If and when Yorks get this firmly in mind and acts accordingly then we can realistically look forward to stability and ongoing success. Obviously I am hoping Chip Kelly will be able to hold his end up and insist on the appropriate authority of a HC.

  44. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Kaepernick along with any and all players and coaches, not to mention fans, has been a victim of this inbred distortion of owner/management/football ops and duties. With a distorted, unsettled FO/ownership/HC structure which has plagued the Niners for many years how can stable success be expected with coaches, players and on the field? We know it can’t be expected or achieved.

Does this mean Kaepernick or Hendrix are ideal people and football men? No. But we have been deprived of finding out how good our players and coaches could have been due to management distortions, ignorance. What’s on the field depends on what is behind the scenes and upstairs. Hats off to Steve Berman for pointing out the likely role of Marathe as the Rat and the Knife. This prompted his immediate removal from the premises and ‘apparent’ demotion tending to confirm its accuracy. What will be the long term results TBD. Real change we can believe in or just more shuck and jive from our Ruler?

If Kelly can hold his ground and exert appropriate control over on field team activities then there is a chance other aspects (FO) will be straightened out as well. Only then will we have a chance of seeing a lot of winning football. This BTW could happen relatively soon or…never, lol.

  45. winderNo Gravatar says:

phil- there’s not a lot we can do about the FO, we can stop going to games, we can pay for flyovers, and add to the bad press, but that’s about it. I don’t think Chip is the answer, the league figured him out, just like the league got to Kappy. Unless there is a rabbit out of the hat and a bunch of players step up, it looks like a 4 win season to me and maybe not even that. It’s ok if we actually look like we will progress, but continually beating that dead old horse will only make things worse until we get rid of our GM, who doesn’t deserve the free ride few are giving him.

  46. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

In the meantime for those bitter clings of the Montana and Young years, solace yourselves that we are building a young, talented base for the future. Slowly.

  47. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Damn, keep reading about Mo and his perceived slight by NYJ?

A fat curveball into our roster, and our FO does not even swing.

  48. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Winder getting Marathe out of the building, if not out of the hierarchy, is a first step. If Balkey can’t cooperate with Chip to create a modestly successful team then York may have to make changes at GM. We have Tom Gamble who may be GM material in the FO again. And he worked with Chip in Philly and this is a far better situation for both having already passed our meltdown. I can see Chip outlasting Balkey if we flop this year as expected.

Nevertheless the main thing will be for York to get it through his head that letting FOOTBALL men run the football operations with clear boundaries for duties of FO/GM/HC is the only way the Niners will ever be successful- and get the fans off his back AND make more money not to mention become something like the Warriors.

  49. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Speaking of the Dubs, big climactic game tomorrow. Chance for them and especially Curry to rise up close to Montana’s status if they beat big bad LeBron. Otherwise not so much, not so soon if ever

  50. bullitNo Gravatar says:

For Kap to compete he needs to change his study habits and absorb Chip’s playbook. If he goes back to his free lancing ways and not go to 2nd or third options will Chip keep him on a short leash?

No mention of any work on Kap’s mechanics or footwork. That’s how he can improve.

  51. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Sporting News not very kind to the Niner’s chance.

They rank Niners dead last in power rankings and the prognosis is 1-15.

If that is the case do they draft the next Adrian Peterson
    in LSU’s Fournette?

  52. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

If Chip is smart, he will dump the chump. Kap is not part of the OC-QB team. Chip is the passing coordinator. Kap is an executer of plays.

Refer back to the mmqb article on Carson Palmer and Arrians. That is a team.

  53. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

    http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/11/17/nfl-carson-palmer-arizona-cardinals-inside-game-plan

This is how a team works. QB needs to know on any given play who is on the field, both O and D, and how best to exploit.

  54. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    Go Ws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let Lebron get his points. Just shut down Kyrie and make the other Cavs ordinary.

Let’s see: Palmer’s clutch playoff play in his 40 yr. career has led him to a whole bunch of SB appearances, with a good Cincy D and a great AZ D.

Oh wait, that would be 0 SBs, 1 less than Kappy who is 10 years younger.

  57. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Too bad the Niner’s ownership doesn’t have the same mindset.

  59. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Yep willing ownership is essential and so far the Dubs have it and Niners don’t. So ‘not’ tempering our expectations for the ’16 season is a set up for suffering. So…caution is much warranted. The Warriors on the other hand are going to be fine for a long time if their core can stay intact.
