I wish we had more than just one Monday night game.

  2. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    No ice bowl games.
Last 5 games we don’t leave the Pacific time zone.
Navarro should be back and healthy for both Seahag games.
12/20 is a Saturday home game against Chargers.

  3. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

    You’re welcome.

  4. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Schedule isn’t terrible except for the B2B Road night games, StL and Denver.
Not crazy about B2B road games early in the East either, NO/NYG.

But, getting Seattle late is better if we happen to lose The LAX Bomber.

  5. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“Seattle Sr Personnel Exec Scot McCloughan has resigned from the team to tend to a family matter, according to NFL sources.”

Right before the draft – again.

  6. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Bullit, regarding Weston Richburg from the last thread.
I’m not against him, just liked the measurables on Linsley and Martin a little better.
Linsley or Bodine could be a gem Pick a little under the radar I’m hoping.

My feeling is get a stud Center that isn’t needed right away.
No clue what to expect from Kilgore at this point.

I’m leaning toward WRs and DBs early but, nobody knows what Baalke has planned until it happens.

If we land Richburg, I won’t complain.
He looks solid, I’ll agree with you there.
I’m looking for someone durable and mean.
Bodine is a Guard already too, maybe we can get both? 😀

  7. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Really, Scotty bails, or was he shown the door?

  8. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Timing is everything.
Seems like Scotty and Spring don’t mix?

  9. Unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Just bizarre how this comes to pass again. I don’t think we got an explanation the first time . . .

    What now? AZ?

  10. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

PFT is reporting this Chuck –

“McCloughan intends to build his own independent scouting service to work from home so he can be around his family.”

Something odd going on with him for sure.

  11. winderNo Gravatar says:

Glad we’re playin the stinkin Cowbows. Kind of worried about Philly, and the usual trip to the Big Easy. Overall i think our division is the toughest and it should prove be an interesting year.

  12. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

    Agree Winder –

Especially with the looming issues of a suspension for the LAX Bomber.

Hate the idea of going B2B on the road to play early in the East too.

But, as they say, one game at a time.

  13. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

And you can’t ignore the fact that we have the 4th toughest strength of schedule.

    Oakland the toughest.
    Indy the easiest of all.

Be nice to see Kaep vs Luck in the SB though 😀

  14. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

Skeebs I’m going to predict a 12-4 finish for our boys this year.

Just to start the ball rolling on your 2014 Prognostication efforts.

  15. winderNo Gravatar says:

Nj – Nothing would really surprise me this year. All those early round picks for the Rams are bound to gel sooner or later and I think they will be very tough for us. It’s funny how both teams really don’t like each other still. I wish they would move back to LA and let STL pick up another team.

  16. bullitNo Gravatar says:

The other 3 NFC West teams all have byes in week 4 which IMO is a huge disadvantage.
First you are just getting into rhythm and a groove and you have take a week off after 3 games?
Second that means you then play 12 weeks in a row.
The Niners definitely got dealt the decent bye week in week 8
    which makes more sense.

  17. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Really they should just do away with the bye altogether and have a one week break in the middle of the schedule. Won’t happen, of course, because Money and TV.

  18. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Don’t forget, a while back they used to have 2 bye weeks, and they took away the 2 week buildup to the Super Bowl. If they were smart about it, they’d simply schedule them between weeks 7 and 10 to make it fairly even.

Yeah, between this and the Thursday night games, Goodell is pissing on his ‘player safety’ mantra. The Seattle bloggers are in full whine mode about their schedule. They play in Washington, Carolina again (much like the Niners going to Green Bay every year), and then St Louie in 3 of 4 weeks. Meanwhile the 49ers in the last 6 weeks have 4 home games, and their 2 roadies are Seattle and Oaktown. The Niners certainly don’t travel as much as Seattle.

  19. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Seattle has 5 of their last 6 games as divisional games. Tough on them. But they play a 6th hardest strength of schedule while we have 4th.

Although SoS don’t mean much before the games are actually played. The Texans and Atl were coming off string seasons, but ended up shitty. No telling who gets good or who cools off.

  20. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“LA County District Attorney’s Office has referred Aldon Smith case to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for misdemeanor consideration.”

  21. winderNo Gravatar says:

I wish nothing but ill-will on the seawacks and their fans, is that wrong? Not.
    .
I haven’t a clue as to what positions we draft in the first few rounds but I would like to see us get some of the big linemen on both sides of the ball. We need to get replacements for both Justin and Aldon.

  22. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    FYI
Today should have been Day One of the NFL Draft but it has been delayed for 2 weeks due to a show conflict at Radio City Music Hall.

Guess what? That show they delayed the draft for was cancelled due to poor ticket sales or lack of interest.

The announcement from Radio City Music Hall

“Please be advised that HEART AND LIGHTS, originally scheduled to take place at Radio City Music Hall from March 27, 2014 through May 4, 2014, has been postponed.

While we are confident that the final production will be a spectacular, one-of-a-kind show, it has become clear that additional work is needed to deliver the unforgettable experience our guests have come to expect from us. Radio City Music Hall is fully booked starting in early May and continuing through the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Unfortunately, this does not allow enough time to make the desired changes and still open the show for what was always intended to be a limited run this calendar year.”

Hopefully Goodell gets the message that delaying the Draft sucks for everyone and this is an absolute embarrassment for the NFL.
Change the location if there is a conflict with the date.

  23. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Goodell could give a rat’s ass about it.

  24. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Skeebs, the news is the LA Criminal Conspiracy Unit may take over the case.

In other words, the city of LA is looking to extort money from Aldon Smith. He may be a monumental idiot for doing what he did, but to think there’s more to this than him being a pissed off passenger is ludicrous beyond belief.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/04/21/lapd-criminal-conspiracy-unit-takes-over-aldon-smith-case/

  25. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    Skeebers

Your latest info on Aldon is current and from today.
Somebody else’s link has provided the usual misinformation with an article from Monday which is old news.

  26. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

    So, NBC Sports propogates misinformation?

Pray tell, skippy, to what end would the Criminal Conspiracy Unit of the LAPD be driving toward? That Aldon Smith is a known terrorist now on the no-fly list? You must think Aldon Smith, professional football player, is part of a larger terrorist group, obviously.

    What a maroon.

  27. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Someone around here is a brown-noser extraordinaire.

But please keep up your one-man (?) rant around the draft being moved back 2 weeks. The embarrassment swirling around this is strictly imasginary.

  28. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

The CCU (rightly) kicked it down. You on the other hand want him on the no-fly list. What a guy.

  29. bullitNo Gravatar says:

You can strike Bradley Roby CB off the Niner early draft list after being charged with a DUI on Apr 20.
He has been mentioned as a possible #1 pick for the Niners.
    Not going to happen now.

  30. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

    What’s another misdemeanor among friends?

  31. unca_chuckNo Gravatar says:

Speaking of misdemeanors, someone will be bummed that Aldon Smith’s alleged bomb threat is now a misdemeanor instead of a felony.

  32. bullitNo Gravatar says:

The fanboy will disagree but here’s another stupid idea from Goodell. IMO too much greed and he’s about to jump the shark.

Contrary to the usual misinformation from the fanboy, Goodell does give a rat’s ass about the draft

  33. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Tuesday will be a key day to Aldon Smith’s future both short term
    and long term.
The NFL has not punished Aldon Smith yet.
Aldon needs to sort out his life out off the field before he can help the Niners on the field.

  34. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

    New post is up.
