49ers 22, Rams 21

Well, that was a bummer. A fat lump of coal right in the old stocking. The 49ers had a chance at the top pick in the draft and a stranglehold on the worst team in franchise history, but they settled for second. The number two pick and just another really bad Niner team. An historic year made merely four months of the butt uglies.

Worse, this is just the sort of fluke victory that will nudge Jed York into thinking he doesn’t need to make big changes this offseason. Maybe even prompt him to have the gall to bring up the 1979 2-14 team of Bill Walsh‘s first year. There’s nothing so ignominious that it’s beyond the scope of York’s ability to be a total, twit-brained jackass.

Watching the team celebrate wildly after the game winning two point conversion was truly pathetic. A vivid reminder of how clueless and leaderless these ragtag buffoons are. Don’t they know that the Niners only celebrate Super Bowl wins? Just ask York. Not title game wins, or division crowns, or even making the playoffs. Yet here these mutts are going ape over their second win in 15 tries.

At any rate, screw this lamentation. Time to go look under the Christmas tree and hope there’s a bottle of joy waiting to be enthusiastically wolfed down, bringing at least temporary respite from the depressing reality of the 2016 San Francisco 49ers. These guys can’t even lose right.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

“It’s a Christmas Miracle!” says Drudge, “Kap finally wins one”!

Miracle indeed. Beat the Seahawks, now that would be a miracle but it’s not going to happen. Miracles, sure. Fairy tales, never.

No doubt Grumpy, Spitwad and Winder are pulling for an improbable victory over the ‘Hawks to prove their prognostication chops, (he said sarcastically)

  3. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Merry Christmas to you Winder and all the rest of the crew. Merry Christmas!

  4. Grumpy GuyNo Gravatar says:

Just how bad are the Rams to lose twice to our sorry asses?

    Pretty effing bad.

  5. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

The 2017 QB’s rated 2nd round at best. Unless another Carson Wentz can command a high 1st, trade up packages are not going to happen.

Missing on #1 really hurts for any chance at a nice trade package.

  6. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Yeah, no point in spying Kaepernick in the red zone, he never tries to run (twice!). The Rams should have kept Fisher for a little longer, at least he knows something about defense.

Firing him and everybody else after proving the only team in the league the sorry Niners could beat would have been seen as the first positive sign the Rams’ front office has a pulse.

As it is the Rams are more screwed than ever and the Niners faithful fans are telling themselves the Chipper is a genius (the only desperate coach to ever go for a fourth down conversion and go for two on the road to steal a win after losing all day. Sheesh!) and they are the fairest-minded fans ever born to cling with a death-grip to their unconditional faith in Kaepernick despite any and all measure of logic instead of lowering themselves to the “racsism” of judging shit-7torm a failed pro QB.

The Niners and Shit-7torm deserve each other! Long may they flop.

  7. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Kap’s presence the last 2 years has not been strong enough to start exodus of fans. If he is starter in 2017, the wreck of this team will drive huge percent of fanbase away. Will this be reflected in TV revenue?

I do not root for this team now. Next year it will be for painful losses. This offseason better be serious.

  8. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

“Racism.” What a laugh. Another in a long line of feeble labels pasted on this site by the barnyard. Last year it was “the cancer” blog. I guess they must be the cancer blog now, since they’ve adopted every point of view we’ve made here for the past two years.

  9. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Very good article and great comments. All players have to have a burning desire to get better.

Kap fails at that. He let’s down his coaches and teammates. I absolutely do not understand why Chip persisted with him. This Rams win blows away my theory of intentionally tanking.

Blaine Gabbert is a better total package. He deserves a better team. Chip deserves the blame of sticking with Kap. I question his competence.

There better be serious changes this offseason.

  10. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

2016 draft had only Goff and Wentz as Pro ready. Besides the physical they were viewed as able to quickly master NFL QB coaching.

Yet Goff is still not there. Rams phucked up.

Not even true. Back in 2014 when ya’ll were blaming the line, Bleacher Report went over the sack/passing stats.

The problem was Kaepernick takes 2.96 seconds to pass — THIRD LONGEST TIME TO PASS IN THE NFL (only Cutler & Bortles were worse). That extra-half-second gives defenses 5-yards of pass-rush.

So, during that time when you were bashing the line the 49ers only gave up 5 sacks in 2.5 seconds or less. The average protection-break-down-to-sack was 3.72 seconds. So, it’s not like the line was folding.

Rather, it was fanboys and finger-pointers who were refusing to accept Kaepernick is slow in the pocket because he sucks for he myriad of reasons we’ve talked about over the years. And, even worse, he’s slow to realize he’s going to get sacked:

“Kaepernick was sacked 23.7 percent of the time when pressure reached him, according to Pro Football Focus. Only Blake Bortles was worse at handling pressure when it got there.”

Seriously, Bortles was a ROOKIE. Not a 4th year player & 3rd year starter.

  14. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Funny that Spittle is often in lock step with Chuckles in his more extreme viewpoints Both cite racism because they are totally ignorant because they can’t quantify that assertion.

If you constantly suck and underperform it has nothing to do with your skin color and everything to do with ability both physical and mental.

Those two clowns just don’t get it.

  15. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

The above comment underscores the slow processing of Chuck and Spit’s favorite QB. Part of the reason is poor mechanics including footwork. Understanding this, Bill Walsh would have shown ultimate racism and shit canned Kap.

A lot has to happen on a 3, 5, or 7 step drop. Sound mechanics makes stuff instinctual, like breathing. Mind needs to be concentrating on reading D pre and post snap and which targets are open and when.

  16. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Rams blatantly told the league we intend to lose all remaining games for higher draft picks, firing Fisher and replacing with the special teams coordinator.

    In your face Goodell.

  17. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Marcus Mariotta and Derek Carr broke bones and IR’d on Saturday. Why is D letting Kap off easy. Are they racist.

  18. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Actually am wrong again. Rams gave their 2017 1st and 3rd picks to TENN. Little incentive to tank games.

If I were pissed and racist of a 2017 Kap led niners, seriously adopt TENN, JAX, and PHI as up and coming teams.

Why follow the niners anymore. Keep reading about Cali secession movements out there. Niners then could move to CFL and their larger fields and watch their pocket fleeing coward stain non-NFL games. Keep the Fro off Drudge too.

  19. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

    Oooooohhhhh, guilty as charged,

  20. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

One of the oldies but goodies, oops. Apologize. My white privilege shows with Alex Smith QB.

  21. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

Ok, Skeebers. First let’s take a poll. Raise your hand if you aren’t a white man over 40 on this blog.

    This is the first step.

And, Skeebers. Your attempt at defending yourself against Chuck’s blog suggests bankruptcy.

  22. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Kap’s value according to the league was on full display earlier this year.
Baalke couldn’t even extract a 4th round pick for Kap.

The fanboys should wake up because reality spoke when nobody would touch him.

In sharp contrast the Egos were able to obtain a 1st rd pick and a 4th for Bradford.

  23. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

His contract was renegotiated. We made a terrible contract. No more. Do this new deal or you will be released. We agree to let you play out the year. Consider this an audition for your new employer.

  24. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

There you have it, straight from the Spittle: all white guys over 40 must be racists. Impeccable drool. Sorry, barnyard, you guys are all racists, too, along with just about every football blog in America.

  25. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

“This is the first step.” Now that we’ve established that all members of your blog (including me) are white males over 40, let’s move on to the next pieces of evidence.

But before we do, let’s remember the words of Bullit back in October when he said Kaep couldn’t read defenses because of his ethnicity. Bullit is blatantly racist. I don’t feel like going back and finding his exact quote, but once read nobody can deny Bullit’s a racist, and that’s not trolling.

BakkenTom is the grand wizard of the KKK, Huntsville Alabama chapter. More evidence not needed.

NoFear would hate to be called a racist because it doesn’t fit with the carefully crafted identity he’s sculpted for himself, but if you asked NoFear about immigration, police officers racially profiling minorities or blacks, affirmative action or any other ethnically charged issue, you’ll find NoFear firmly in the white power camp.

Grumpy and you, Skeebers, aren’t racist. Neither am I unless they’re black and walking in my neighborhood after 6pm.

  26. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

The age of people on the blogs has been common knowledge for years. Hardly a major finding. The rest of it is just your typical self-serving nonsense.

  27. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

The fact is you can’t make a meaningful defense of Kap, so you try dodging it by calling people racists.

  28. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Carlos Hyde is out with a torn MCL

  29. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Now you’re making crap up. I challenge you to find what comment I posted that’s “racist”. You don’t feel like going back because you’re just making shit up and hoping it’ll stick.

You assume a lot. and we all know when one assumes it just makes you an ass.

  30. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Kelly says its a starin and not a tear for Hyde’s MCL.
Nevertheless he’s out for many weeks.

  31. bullitNo Gravatar says:

    strain and not stairn.

Kelly also said that kap’s throw was behind Hyde which led to him being exposed to the awkward hit.

  32. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

Using the label ‘racism’ on others with no other policies, ideas, solutions in the face of ongoing public rejection is hardly convincing. Unless the goal is to justify ones own superiority and purity to oneself and others. This is not a winning electoral strategy however.

  33. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

…nor is it a sufficient justification to explain why or how
Kaepernick is a functional NFL QB. As Bullit said…

  34. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Chip denied in his press conference that his offense was up tempo
which is a bold faced lie. The media was asking him about the slowdown and how most plays were being snapped with under 10 seconds left. Chip claimed they were trying to get into the proper play. The Chipster is talking out of the side of his mouth.

Interesting analysis of Chip’s offense coming into the season

  35. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I for one am not in favor of giving Chip another year to prove that his offense will work in the NFL.

If they realign the front office by canning Baalke, the new GM should be able to choose his own coach.

Uner Kelly this team will improve to 4-5 wins next year and he’ll be on the hot seat again. Give him another year and the team might get to 6-7 wins which would put this team in mediocre hell.

If you are going tgo clean house, you can’t be half assed about it.

  36. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

“This is not a winning electoral strategy however.”

    Not anymore.

The charge of racism is almost always leveled without proof or fact and cannot be defended with no facts to refute.

Is it any wonder clueless bubbleheads employ it as their go-to?

Or that the only guy here who sees racism in every “old white guy” is the resident clueless bubblehead?

Immigration or illegal immigration, all the same, right?

All those guys shouting “allahu akbar” before slaughtering innocent Americans being radical muzzies just meaningless coincidence, right?

    Rave on, fool.

  37. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

Skeebers – Nice try. I don’t need to make a meaningful defense of Kaep. It’s irrelevant what we think. He’ll either progress some place else or he won’t. The fact still remains this blog is racist. Not opinion. Fact.

  38. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Besides two QBs’ busted fibulas the Seahawks receiver Lockett looked like he broke both shin bones in a compound fracture as he was making a catch at the goal line. If you didn’t see it, they called him down where his dangling foot hit the ground short of the goal line. AZ held then fumbled back to them and kept them to a FG. Good day for Palmer and his band in front of the ‘Hawks crowd. Always good to see Sherman get embarrassed and at home much better.

  39. bullitNo Gravatar says:

I actually saw a scene from the movie being filmed on my way to school.
Best car chase scene in cinematic history.

  40. bullitNo Gravatar says:

This was written about Chip in Jan 2016, updated in Aug 2016 and now is an interesting read because it quantifies that Chip’s system doesn’t translate to the NFL.

    This from that article

“When Kelly first came to the NFL three years ago, several writers predicted that Chip’s “college boy” approach would not work in the NFL. That is partially true, but not for the reasons anyone expected.
The problem was that Chip stubbornly stuck to his system, which is based on six interlocking elements: Tempo, Scheme, Versatility, Deception, Science and Culture. When the system works, these elements reinforce each other to produce astonishing power.
But when the system malfunctions, the interlocking elements drag each other down in the same way. It’s an all-or-nothing approach that wins or loses in streaks, and for reasons I’ll explore in a second, big chunks of it will never work as well in the NFL as they did in college.”

Today earlier Chip said that up tempo was not key part of his offense.

Sounds to me like a guy grasping at starws to save his job.

  41. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Being the little troll that he is I challenged Spitwad to show me the post where he said I made some racist remarks.
As usual the challenge goes unanswered and Spitwad crawls back under the rock.

Typical Spitwad and Chuckles tactics out of their playbooks.
Stretch the truth and hope you won’t refute what they say.

Basically a chickenshit pathetic tactic by two of the biggest known trolls.

  42. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

    Chuck’s not a troll. He’s just stupid.

  43. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Not that I have anything against stupid people. But most of them have a dim awareness that they aren’t very bright and remain a bit humble about it. Chuck, OTOH, likes to thump his chest while he proves how dumb he is. Unsightly, to say the least.

  44. Phil fanNo Gravatar says:

    Insufferable too

  45. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Joe Staley: “I’d much rather have a team that’s fractured and apart and 13-3 than together and 2-14.”

  46. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Good to see at least someone isn’t all that okay with losing. ‘course he’s now a racist.

  47. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

You guys are sitting around blogging about a team that is probably the worst in all American professional sports, calling other people stupid?

  48. SkeebersNo Gravatar says:

Jeez, what a killjoy. Just some old white guys having fun.

  49. SpitbloodNo Gravatar says:

  51. bullitNo Gravatar says:

Niners have not lost the season ending finale since Nolan was head coach in 2007.
They are 9.5 point to 10.5 point underdogs depending on the sports book.

  52. NJ49erNo Gravatar says:

And Kaep hasn’t done squat against Seattle since 2013.
Don’t bet on that stat changing against a Seattle team looking for Playoff positioning.
With any luck, this will be the last game we see Kaep wearing a 9er uniform.

  53. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Rex isn’t a bad coach. Neither is Rob for that matter. But Rex should never have hired his twin for the DC job. Both of them require some form of adult supervision and their GM makes Baalke look competent.

  54. NoFear49erNo Gravatar says:

Seattle just got beat up by the Cards they need to make this a division statement game.

Unfortunately, NJ49er, luck has left the building and hope followed closely behind.

Crappy Kappy is 1-9 and the morons running this circus celebrate it. His lone win came against a team that easily bested us but caved worse than the Kaepernick-led Niners in the fourth quarter to gift him one and it’s a party.

Kaepernick shouldn’t have seen the field this year and only has because he let the Niners renege on their idiotic injury clause and we needed him to show he’s healthy, if not worth a shit as a pro QB, so maybe he will get some interest somewhere else.

So I agree, maybe there exists greater fools than ours somewhere in this league and Shit-7torm can be another team’s headache and downfall next year.

  55. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Browns could W the Steelers, who have nothing to play for. Ben, Bell, and Brown not playing.

    Cheer up. Fingers crossed.

  56. bullitNo Gravatar says:

It has been learned that if you want5 Garrapolo it’ll cost a team a First and fourth round pick.

Garrapolo is better right now than any QB in the draft. Hate to give up that first round pick. Perhaps the Pats would take this years #2 and a third round pick next year.

Garrapolo would instantly improve the offense.

  57. bakkentomNo Gravatar says:

Why not stick with Blaine as bridge. Draft Mason Rudolph with 2nd Rd pick.

Garapolo probably underperform away from Brady and belichick.
